Campgrounds and RV parks near North Riverside, IL

North Riverside sits in western Cook County, roughly ten miles west of downtown Chicago and adjacent to the Des Plaines River and the Forest Preserves of Cook County. RV camping options inside the village itself are limited, so most travelers base at private RV parks in the surrounding metro ring, then day-trip into the city. The closest full-service option is Pingala RV Resort in nearby Oak Park, which offers paved sites within easy reach of North Riverside and the Loop. Farther out in the Joliet area, Martin Campground and Chicagoland Speedway/Lakeside Campgrounds sit off I-80, and Hollywood Casino Hotel and RV Resort adds a full-hookup option tied to the entertainment complex. Enchanted Shores in Peotone rounds out the south-suburban options for families who prefer a quieter setting off Route 45. Most private parks in the region are booked directly through each park's own website or phone line. Illinois state park sites are reserved through the state's ExploreMoreIL system.
