Campgrounds and RV parks near Odell, IL

Odell sits in Livingston County along historic Route 66, about halfway between Bloomington and Joliet on Interstate 55. The area is flat farmland, so most RV campers use Odell as a base for reaching state parks and Illinois River destinations within an hour's drive north and west. The closest option in town is the Livingston County 4-H Campgrounds, tied to the county fairgrounds in Pontiac. For state-park camping with river views and hiking, RV travelers typically head northwest to the Illinois River corridor near Marseilles and Utica, where Illini State Park and Kayak Starved Rock Campground sit within roughly an hour of Odell. Glenwood RV Resort and Pleasant Creek Campground round out the private-park options in the surrounding region. Most sites in the area offer electric hookups suitable for travel trailers and motorhomes, with dump stations on site or nearby. Cell coverage is generally reliable along the I-55 corridor and thins out only in the deeper river canyons to the northwest.

All Illinois Department of Natural Resources campsites, including Illini State Park and Starved Rock, are booked exclusively through the ExploreMoreIL reservation system at camp.exploremoreil.com. Starved Rock takes reservations from four days out to six months in advance, and weekend sites from May through October are commonly gone months ahead. Walk-in sites open two days before the arrival date on a first-come, first-served basis. Private parks in the region, including Glenwood RV Resort, Pleasant Creek Campground, and Kayak Starved Rock Campground, are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their own websites.
