Campgrounds and RV parks near St. David, IL

St. David sits in Fulton County in west-central Illinois, within driving range of two significant public-land camping areas: Sand Ridge State Forest across the Illinois River and Jubilee College State Park northeast toward Peoria. The town itself is small, so most RV renters use it as a base to reach state-forest sites, river access, and the Havana area. Sand Ridge is the largest state forest in Illinois, covering roughly 7,550 acres of oak-hickory woodland, pine plantations, and sand prairie. Pine Camp - Sand Ridge State Forest handles individual and family RV camping in a rustic setting, while Oak Camp - Sand Ridge State Forest is reserved for organized groups. Jubilee College State Park lies west of Peoria and offers a more developed campground with electric sites and showers. For renters who want full hookups and organized activities, Evening Star Camping Resort near Havana is the closest full-service option. Cabin Fever Campground and Hunt Club rounds out the local list for hunters and smaller rigs.

Illinois state park and state forest campsites, including Pine Camp - Sand Ridge State Forest and the reservable loops at Jubilee College State Park, are booked through the state's ExploreMoreIL reservation system. Woodchuck Ridge - Jubilee College State Park is a main reservable loop for standard RV camping and books earliest for summer weekends. Oak Camp - Sand Ridge State Forest is set up for organized groups and shelters and can be rented through the same system. Private campgrounds handle their own reservations. Evening Star Camping Resort takes bookings directly and through third-party campground marketplaces, and Cabin Fever Campground and Hunt Club is booked directly. For summer holiday weekends, reserve state-park sites as far in advance as the system window allows, since electric loops fill quickly.
