Campgrounds and RV parks near Knox, IN

Knox sits in Starke County in northwest Indiana, within easy driving range of two state parks that anchor most RV trips in the area. Tippecanoe River State Park lies just south near Winamac, while Potato Creek State Park sits to the north near North Liberty. Both are managed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and stay open year round, though services scale back outside the main camping season. Private options fill in the gaps. Rising Sun Campground and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort give families hookup sites, pools, and organized activities that the state park campgrounds do not offer. Equestrian travelers can base out of Horsemens Camp at Tippecanoe River State Park or Horse Camp at Potato Creek State Park, both with electric sites and direct access to bridle trails. Most campgrounds in the area accommodate mid to large rigs. Tippecanoe River offers 112 electric sites in a wooded riverside setting, and Potato Creek's Horsemen's Campground provides 70 electric sites near the equestrian trail network.

State park sites at Tippecanoe River and Potato Creek are booked through the Indiana State Parks reservation system, which runs on the ReserveAmerica platform. Reservations open up to six months in advance and can be made for the day of arrival, since Indiana State Parks are fully reservable and do not hold sites back for walk-ins. Two-night minimums typically apply on weekends and three-night minimums on holiday weekends. Private campgrounds including Rising Sun Campground and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and typically open bookings further in advance than the state system. For summer weekends and holiday periods, book both state and private sites as early as possible.
