Campgrounds and RV parks near North Judson, IN

North Judson sits in Starke County in northwest Indiana, on flat farmland between the Kankakee River lowlands and the Tippecanoe River corridor. The town works as a practical base for RV travelers heading to Tippecanoe River State Park, the Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area, and the Erie Trail rail-trail that runs through the community. Campground options within a short drive cover most travel styles. Tippecanoe River State Park, managed by Indiana DNR, offers electric and primitive sites plus a dedicated horsemen's camp. Private options include Rising Sun Campground on the Tippecanoe River in Monterey, Acorn Oaks Campground on rural acreage near Francesville, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Plymouth for family-focused amenities. The surrounding landscape is largely flat with mixed oak woods, sand hills, and river bottoms. Roads into most campgrounds are paved county highways, so access is straightforward for larger rigs. Cell coverage and grocery stops are reliable in North Judson and nearby Winamac and Knox.

Tippecanoe River State Park takes reservations through Indiana DNR's system at camp.IN.gov. Sites can be reserved up to six months in advance and must be booked at least one day ahead of arrival. Weekends in the electric loops book out quickly in summer, so early reservations are recommended. Private campgrounds handle their own bookings directly. Rising Sun Campground, Acorn Oaks Campground, and Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Camp-Resort all accept reservations through their own websites or by phone, and some also list on third-party platforms such as Campspot or Good Sam. Holiday weekends and themed events at Jellystone typically require full prepayment and sell out weeks ahead.
