Campgrounds and RV parks near Gramercy, LA

Gramercy sits on the east bank of the Mississippi River in St. James Parish, roughly halfway between New Orleans and Baton Rouge along the historic River Road corridor. The town is less than an hour from Baton Rouge to the west and New Orleans to the east, making it a convenient base for touring the antebellum mansions situated along Louisiana's River Road. The area is flat, humid, and heavily influenced by the river, with sugar cane fields, levee roads, and small industrial towns defining the landscape. RV options in the immediate area cluster along the river and off I-10. Poche Plantation RV Resort Cottage sits directly on River Road in Convent, on the grounds of a restored historic plantation home. Old River RV Park lies to the north in Maurepas, near the Amite River basin. Laplace Trailer- RV Park is closer to New Orleans and useful for day trips into the city. Lamar Dixon Expo Center RV Park in Gonzales serves travelers attending events at the parish expo complex, and B and B RV Park rounds out the nearby options. Many travelers use Gramercy as a stopover between Gulf Coast destinations or as a quieter alternative to camping inside New Orleans.

Reservations for privately operated parks in the Gramercy area, including Poche Plantation RV Resort Cottage, Old River RV Park, Laplace Trailer- RV Park, and B and B RV Park, are handled directly by the property or through third-party aggregators. Phone booking is still the most reliable method for the smaller parks; call ahead to confirm site length, hookup amps, and pull-through availability for larger rigs. Lamar Dixon Expo Center RV Park is operated by Ascension Parish and takes reservations directly through the expo center. Availability tightens sharply around rodeos, horse shows, and 4-H events on the expo calendar, so check the venue's event schedule before locking in dates. Louisiana does not run a centralized state-park RV portal that covers this corridor, so book each property independently.
