Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel in the Minorca area. March through May brings mild temperatures and blooming hardwoods, but it is also one of the wetter windows of the year, with frequent thunderstorms. Sites at Lake Bruin State Park and Natchez State Park book up quickly on spring weekends, especially around bass-fishing peaks. Summer is hot and humid, with daytime highs regularly in the low 90s Fahrenheit and heat indexes higher. Shaded sites and full-hookup parks with reliable 50-amp service become important for air conditioning. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, and August is the wettest month on average, with tropical systems occasionally pushing rain inland from the Gulf during the Atlantic hurricane season from June through November. Winters are mild. Freezes occur but snow is rare, and many private RV parks stay open year-round. Lake Bruin State Park is open 365 days a year, though visitor amenities such as the water playground run seasonally.
