Ridgecrest sits in Concordia Parish in northeast Louisiana, on the west bank of the Mississippi River across from Natchez, Mississippi. The area is flat delta country, and most campgrounds cluster along the river near Vidalia and Ferriday, with state parks a short drive north and east. RVers use Ridgecrest as a base for touring historic Natchez, fishing oxbow lakes, and stopping on longer routes between the Gulf Coast and the mid-South. River View RV Park And Resort sits directly on the Mississippi in Vidalia, less than two miles from downtown Natchez by way of the bridge. Lakeview Paradise RV Park and Plantation RV Park offer additional full-hookup options close to town and the river crossings. For state-park camping, Campground A at Natchez State Park lies about ten miles north of Natchez off US 61, on a wooded lake shore. Lake Bruin State Park is farther north near St. Joseph, Louisiana, on a large oxbow lake carved from a former bend of the Mississippi. Both offer improved sites and are reservable through their state systems.
