Campgrounds and RV parks near Winnsboro, LA

Winnsboro sits in Franklin Parish in northeast Louisiana, roughly halfway between Monroe and Vicksburg. The surrounding Macon Ridge and Mississippi Delta country is flat, agricultural, and threaded with bayous and oxbow lakes, which shapes most of the camping options within an hour's drive. The closest full-service RV stop is Delhi RV Park, about 25 miles north near I-20, followed by Ouachita RV Park and the Ouachita Sportsplex complex on the west side of the region. For state-park camping with lake frontage, Poverty Point Reservoir State Park sits on a 2,700-acre man-made lake north of Winnsboro near Delhi, and Lake Bruin State Park sits on a roughly 3,000-acre horseshoe-shaped oxbow lake near St. Joseph. Between these options, RV travelers can pick a private park close to interstate access or a state park with hookups, boat launches, and lake swimming. Both state parks accept large rigs and take reservations well in advance.

Louisiana State Parks handle Poverty Point Reservoir and Lake Bruin through a single central reservation system. Reservations can be made up to 13 months to the day in advance, online or by phone, and must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Reservations inside the 48-hour window are handled by contacting the park directly. For reservations made 10 to 13 months prior to arrival, the entire balance must be received within 30 days of the request, and cancellations in that window carry a one-day rental charge per facility. Private parks such as Delhi RV Park and Ouachita RV Park take direct bookings by phone or through their websites. For summer weekends and holidays, reserve four to eight weeks out to secure a full-hookup pull-through.
