Campgrounds and RV parks near Goodman, MS

Goodman sits in Holmes County in central Mississippi, along the I-55 corridor between Jackson and Grenada. The town itself is small, so most RV campers base themselves at nearby state park and reservoir campgrounds and drive in for supplies and fuel. Holmes County State Park, located about four miles south of Durant off I-55 Exit 150, is the closest developed campground and the most popular option for families. Holmes County State Park is built around English and Odom Lakes and offers RV pads, tent sites, and cabins in a hardwood forest setting. To the south, campgrounds around Ross Barnett Reservoir, managed by the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District, provide waterfront sites within about an hour's drive. Low Head Dam offers a more rustic experience on the upper Pearl River, while Sunset Marina at 43 sits along Highway 43 on the reservoir itself. Smaller private options fill in the gaps. Vaiden Campground, LLC. sits a short drive north along I-55, and Movietown RV Park and Mini Storage offers a simple hookup stop for travelers passing through the area.

Holmes County State Park is operated by the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. Sites and cabins can be reserved through the state park reservation system or by calling the park office directly, and peak weekends in spring and fall should be booked several weeks ahead. Campgrounds around Ross Barnett Reservoir, including Low Head Dam, are administered by the Pearl River Valley Water Supply District, with on-site management at each campground. Public sites can sell out on holiday weekends, so reserving early is recommended, and some primitive areas remain first-come, first-served. Private parks such as Vaiden Campground, LLC., Sunset Marina at 43, and Movietown RV Park and Mini Storage typically take bookings by phone or through their websites, and are usually the most flexible choice for short-notice or overnight travel stops along I-55.
