Campgrounds and RV parks near Magnolia, MS

Water recreation drives most trips here. Lake Tangipahoa at Percy Quin State Park draws visitors for fishing, waterskiing, and boating, and the park also offers a swimming pool, sports courts, and the Quail Hollow golf course. Trails loop the lake through pine and hardwood forest. The Bogue Chitto River is the other main draw. Guests at Hidden Springs can canoe, tube, and fish for bass, bream, crappie, and catfish, and Paradise Ranch features a natural cypress lake, an artesian-fed white sand lagoon, a pool with zip line and splash pad, and free-roaming red stag deer that children can feed. Off the water, families visit the Homochitto National Forest for hiking and drive into McComb for restaurants and the railroad heritage district.

Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel in southwest Mississippi. Daytime highs sit in the 70s and low 80s Fahrenheit, humidity eases, and the river and lake are warm enough for paddling. Wildflowers bloom along the trails at Percy Quin, and campground booking pressure peaks on weekends. Summer is hot, humid, and stormy. August is the wettest month of the year, averaging around 171 mm of rainfall, and afternoon thunderstorms are routine. Shaded sites and pool access become priorities. Paradise Ranch and Hidden Springs both run water-focused programming through summer, and Percy Quin's pool is open seasonally. Winter is mild, with highs in the low 60s Fahrenheit and occasional cold snaps into the 30s at night. Paradise Ranch RV Resort is open year-round, and Percy Quin and Hidden Springs also stay open. Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November, with the highest inland storm risk in late summer and early fall; check forecasts before booking.

Sites in this area are generally spacious and shaded by tall pines and hardwoods. Percy Quin has 102 full-hookup RV campsites with 50/30/20 amp service, water, and sewer, plus 20 lakefront premium sites, and campground roads and campsites are paved. Some internal roads are narrow, so larger rigs should take corners carefully. McComb KOA offers level pull-throughs, deluxe cabins, and a pool. Paradise Ranch spans 105 acres shaded by tall pines, with RV sites, cabins, and primitive sites, plus a large swimming pool with zip line and splash pad, and golf carts are useful given the property size. Hidden Springs covers 127 wooded acres with 105 full-hookup RV sites, two swimming pools, a game room, and river frontage. Cell service is limited within Percy Quin State Park, with weak AT&T and Verizon signals. Bugs and humidity ramp up from late spring through early fall; screens and repellent are essentials.
