Campgrounds and RV parks near West Yellowstone, MT

West Yellowstone sits at roughly 6,660 feet in Gallatin County, Montana, directly at the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The town serves as a staging point for RV travelers heading into the park, with private RV parks in town and National Forest and park campgrounds within a short drive. Hebgen and Quake lakes lie a few miles northwest along US-287, and the Madison River corridor runs east into the park. RV travelers typically choose between full-hookup private parks in town and more rustic public sites in the surrounding Custer Gallatin National Forest. Wagon Wheel RV Campground, Yellowstone Cabins and RV Park, Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, and Buffalo Crossing RV Park are all located within the town grid, which means short walks to restaurants, gas, and the park gate.
