Campgrounds and RV parks near Angola, NY

Angola sits on the Lake Erie shoreline in southern Erie County, roughly 27 miles southwest of Buffalo. The village is the closest community to Evangola State Park, a New York State-operated park on Lake Erie in southern Erie County whose natural sand beach and scenic Angola shale cliffs anchor most camping trips to the area. RV travelers typically use Angola as a base for Lake Erie beach days, day trips into Buffalo, and drives across the Peace Bridge to the Niagara region. Camping options range from state-run public sites to full-service private resorts. Evangola State Park features 80 campsites, 6 yurts, a cabin, and a nature center, plus ball courts and beach access. Just across the border, Windmill Point Park in Fort Erie and Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores on the sandy shores of Lake Erie in southern Ontario offer private resort camping built around swimming quarries and Lake Erie beachfront. Closer inland options such as Pleasant Beach Campground and Riverside Park Motel and Campground round out the choices, giving families a mix of lake access, quarry swimming, and quieter wooded sites within a short drive of Angola.

Evangola State Park uses the ReserveAmerica system, with camping reservations available up to 9 months in advance online or through the ReserveAmerica Call Center at 1-800-456-2267. Same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m. on day of arrival for campsites only, and walk-ins are permitted on campsites. If a reservation is made within 7 days of arrival, a 1-night stay can be booked online or through the Call Center. Sun Retreats Sherkston Shores books directly through the Sun Outdoors site or by calling the resort, and Windmill Point Park uses its own online reservation portal. Reserve summer weekends and long weekends as early as possible, as popular sites near the beach or quarry sell out first.
