Campgrounds and RV parks near Foots Creek, OR

The Rogue River is the main draw. Fishing, kayaking, drift boating, and motorized jet boat excursions all run out of the surrounding stretch of river, and Valley Of The Rogue State Park has its own boat launch, picnic areas, and a paved 1.25-mile interpretive trail along the river's edge. The Rogue River Greenway, a paved path running for several miles toward the city of Rogue River, is well suited to family bike rides from sites at Valley Of The Rogue State Park or Bridgeview RV Park. Day trips fan out in every direction: the Oregon Vortex House of Mystery in Gold Hill, wineries and tasting rooms throughout the Rogue and Applegate valleys, historic Jacksonville, Crater Lake National Park, and Oregon Caves National Monument, which is open seasonally.

The Rogue Valley has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers and cool, wetter winters. July and August are the hottest and driest months, with regular afternoon highs in the low 30s Celsius (around 90 Fahrenheit) and very little rain. This is also peak booking season, when Valley Of The Rogue State Park and the I-5 private parks fill out months ahead, especially on weekends. Spring and fall are the most comfortable shoulders for RV travel. May, June, September, and October bring mild days, cooler nights, and lower campground demand. Wildfire smoke is a real consideration in late summer and early fall, so check air-quality forecasts and fire restrictions before locking in dates. Winters are mild by interior-Oregon standards but wet, with frequent rain, fog in the valley, and occasional light snow. Valley Of The Rogue State Park and the nearby private RV parks stay open year-round, and showers and flush toilets remain operational through the off-season.

Most RV sites in this corridor are level, with full or partial hookups and easy big-rig access. Valley Of The Rogue State Park offers roughly 95 full-hookup sites and 55 electric and water sites, plus tent sites and yurts; flush toilets, free hot showers, and a dump station are available. Interstate 5 runs right alongside the park, so expect noticeable highway noise day and night. Medford / Gold Hill KOA Journey is family-oriented, with a seasonal pool, playground, laundry, propane, Wi-Fi, and pull-through sites. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the valley. Quiet hours, leash rules for pets, and local-firewood requirements are standard. Stock up on groceries and propane in Grants Pass, Rogue River, Gold Hill, or Medford before settling in.
