Campgrounds and RV parks near Malin, OR

Malin sits in the Klamath Basin near the California state line, surrounded by farmland, marshes, and high desert. The town is roughly 25 miles southeast of Klamath Falls and within a short drive of Lava Beds National Monument and the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge Complex. RV travelers use Malin as a quiet base for caving, birding, and exploring the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway. RV options in the immediate area range from small in-town parks to forested sites across the California line. Wild Goose Lodge Motel and RV and Eagles Nest RV Park serve travelers staying close to Malin, while Hawks Nest RV and Cabins sits in the high desert and Ponderosa pine country near Lava Beds National Monument. Klamath Falls KOA Journey offers a full-service stop in Klamath Falls, and Indian Wells - Lava Beds National Monument provides the most rustic option, inside the monument itself. Elevation across the basin runs above 4,000 feet, so nights are cool even in summer. Services are limited once you leave Klamath Falls or Tulelake, so trip planning matters.

Reservation systems vary by property type. Private RV parks in and around Malin and Klamath Falls, including Klamath Falls KOA Journey, take direct online or phone bookings through their own websites and accept reservations year-round. KOA Rewards members receive a discount at participating locations. Confirm site length when traveling in a larger rig, since some basin parks limit longer trailers. Indian Wells - Lava Beds National Monument operates its 43 standard sites on a first-come, first-served basis with no hookups and no advance reservations. A single group site is reservable through Recreation.gov from mid-April to mid-October. For summer weekends and the February eagle festival, book private parks several weeks ahead. An entrance pass is required for Lava Beds National Monument, and the America the Beautiful pass is accepted and useful across the wider region.
