Campgrounds and RV parks near Victoria, VA

Victoria sits in southern Virginia's Piedmont region, within reach of several state parks and reservoir-based campgrounds that suit RV travelers. The closest full-service option is Twin Lakes State Park, a 548-acre park in central Virginia offering lakefront sites and cabins on Goodwin Lake and Prince Edward Lake. To the south, the John H. Kerr Reservoir (known locally as Buggs Island Lake) anchors both Occoneechee State Park near Clarksville and the Kerr Lake State Recreation Area on the North Carolina side. Occoneechee sits along the shores of Buggs Island Lake, Virginia's largest lake, with tent and RV sites, cabins, an equestrian campground, and three boat ramps providing 24-hour lake access. Across the state line, Kerr Lake State Recreation Area covers eight access areas around the 50,000-acre reservoir, and Kimball Point sits on a peninsula that puts most sites close to the water. For travelers coming from the Richmond corridor, Amelia Family Campground and Lake Gaston Americamps round out the region with private-park amenities, including hookups suited to larger rigs.

Virginia State Parks including Twin Lakes and Occoneechee use a site-specific reservation system, meaning campers choose an exact site number when booking. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance through reservevaparks.com or by phone at 1-800-933-PARK (7275). Not every site at Occoneechee's Campground C has hookups, so it pays to check individual site details before selecting. Kerr Lake State Recreation Area, including Kimball Point, is managed by North Carolina State Parks and books through ReserveAmerica on a rolling window. For popular summer weekends, waterfront sites can clear within minutes of release. Private campgrounds such as Amelia Family Campground and Lake Gaston Americamps handle bookings directly through their own websites or by phone, and both accept longer stays.
