Campgrounds and RV parks near Montcalm, WV

Montcalm sits in Mercer County in southern West Virginia, just off Interstate 77 and a short drive from Bluefield and Princeton. The area works as a practical base for RV renters heading into the Appalachian foothills, with a mix of state park campgrounds and private RV resorts within a 30-minute radius. Elevations climb quickly, so expect winding roads and cooler nights than lowland Virginia. Camp Creek State Park and Forest lies a short drive north off I-77 exit 20. Its Mash Fork Campground offers 26 trailer and tent sites with a heated bathhouse, a mix of electric, water-and-electric, and full-hookup sites, and access to roughly 35 miles of trails and seven miles of trout streams across nearly 6,000 acres. Pipestem Resort State Park, farther north, adds a full resort layout with 82 campsites, lodges, cabins, and amenities such as pools, an aerial tram, and golf. For ATV-focused trips, Riverfront ATV Resort and Ashland Resort provide access to the Hatfield-McCoy Trail system. Brushcreek Falls RV Resort rounds out the options with a waterfall-side setting suited to families.
