Campgrounds and RV parks near Pineville, WV

Pineville sits in Wyoming County in southern West Virginia, at the center of the Pinnacle Creek Trail System, part of the Hatfield-McCoy Trails, with direct connections to the ATV-friendly towns of Mullens and Pineville. The area draws RV travelers chasing off-road riding, waterfalls, and quiet mountain scenery, and most campgrounds within a short drive are set up for trailers, toy haulers, and ATV parking. The anchor public campground is Twin Falls Resort State Park, a public recreation area in Wyoming County established in 1964 and named for two scenic waterfalls near Cabin Creek accessed by a hiking trail. The park covers 3,776 acres of forested mountain terrain at over 2,500 feet of elevation and offers 50 paved campsites in two loops: Foxhunters Point provides heavily wooded, shaded sites, while Dogwood Flats offers sunnier sites, with 22 of the 50 sites offering electric hookups. Private options closer to the trailheads include Ashland Resort, Paradise Island of Christian WV, Twin Hollow Campground and Cabins, and Riverfront ATV Resort, most catering to riders with pull-through sites, wash stations, and short-trailer access to the Hatfield-McCoy system.

For Twin Falls Resort State Park, reservations can be made online at wvstateparks.com, by phone, or at the campground office, with a two-night minimum on weekends and a 14-night maximum stay. Book several weeks ahead for summer weekends and fall foliage weekends. Outside the Memorial Day to Labor Day peak season, sites are commonly available and demand is lighter. Private campgrounds such as Ashland Resort, Twin Hollow Campground and Cabins, Paradise Island of Christian WV, and Riverfront ATV Resort take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Riders should also plan for Hatfield-McCoy permits: a valid trail permit is required to ride, and permits can be purchased online, at the Pinnacle Creek trailhead, or at more than 180 authorized vendor locations across the region.
