Campgrounds and RV parks near River Hills, WI

River Hills is a small residential village in Milwaukee County, roughly fifteen minutes north of downtown Milwaukee. The village itself is zoned residential and does not contain public campgrounds, so RV travelers base themselves at private resorts and state park campgrounds within a short drive along the Lake Michigan shoreline and inland toward the Kettle Moraine region. The closest options for RV renters cover a range of styles. Lazy Days Campground and Lake Lenwood Beach and Campground offer quieter, lake-oriented sites with standard hookups, while Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort: Caledonia and Jellystone Park™ in Caledonia, Wisconsin cater to families with pools, water slides, and structured activities. Harrington Beach State Park, roughly forty minutes north in Ozaukee County, provides a public-land alternative on Lake Michigan. Southeastern Wisconsin's camping window is compact. Most private parks operate from late spring into October, and the state park campground at Harrington Beach follows a similar schedule, which shapes how far in advance sites need to be booked.

Wisconsin state park campsites, including Harrington Beach, are reserved through the state system at wisconsin.goingtocamp.com or by phone at 888-947-2757. Reservations can be made up to eleven months in advance of the arrival date, which is the practical target for summer weekends and any electric site. Private resorts book directly. Jellystone Park in Caledonia takes reservations through its own site, and both Lake Lenwood Beach and Campground and Lazy Days Campground handle bookings directly by phone or website. Holiday weekends and themed weekends fill first, so families targeting July or a specific theme should reserve as soon as dates are released. For RV renters, confirm the site's amp service (20, 30, or 50) and whether it includes sewer before booking, since hookup levels vary within each park.
