2023 Other GOB 2023
Introducing Jacques. new for 2023!
Yes. Jacques is an explorer. Just like his name’s sake, but this Jacque’s exploring is land based! 😊
Jacques is 1,375 lb (624 kg). He is a low wind resistant (fuel saving) teardrop travel trailer which can be pulled by almost anything that has any kind of tow rated capacity at all. (Check your owners manual.) With today's fuel prices – the further you travel the more you save! You will hardly know he’s there. He is a custom spec’d model created in March 2023.
Jacques may be small and light, but he can comfortably sleep any two people on a custom spec’d 5” thick mattress measuring 58.5” wide (virtual Queen) X 80.5” long. That’s a 6-foot 8-inch-long mattress! And – Jacque’s mattress can be converted into a sofa!
What other surprises does Jacques have? Handy cabin lighting. Beautiful craftsmen cabinetry storage cupboards with securable travel doors help keep the bedroom attractive and tidy. The multi speed reversible MaxxFan can automatically react to temperature and rain! And with the remote you can air out the bedroom on those hot nights before you go inside! USB 12- and 110-volt power outlets; effective cross ventilation capability; and he even has Porch lights to check for little critters before stepping out in the dark.
What’s in Jacque’s kitchen? More craftsmen made cabinetry and counter space galore! (Complete with a mysterious adventure map!) Jacques comes with a high-end Kailani cooler (blue like the high seas of course) in a sliding drawer. He has a two burner stove with a 5 lb propane tank and a 10’ connection hose for convenient placement almost anywhere – but for your safety, never inside. There are also a 12- and 110-volt outlets in the kitchen. All this while you’re protected under the cover of Jacque’s trail gate!
What's included?
Towels. Kailani Cooler. Two burner propane stove, 5 pound propane tank. Fry pan. Kettle. Camp toaster. Kitchen utensils. Kitchen linens. Two place settings. Folding table with two camp chairs. Fresh Bed linens, quilt, pillows and towels available at an additional cost.
Traveling around Jacques, come to the ahhh-awning. Unroll and stake down the awning (very important) and protect yourself from the hot sun or the threat of rain. It’s a magnificent place to sit and enjoy the evening sun at day’s close (maybe with a glass of the earth’s bounty in you hand). Isn’t that type of enjoyment you got away for in the first place?
Look up. There is no stronger roof top rack in production on this type of vehicle anywhere! Secure your kayak, canoe, a carrier, or even a roof top adventure tent for the kids!
Look down. Jacques has a 2” receiver below her tail gate for your bicycle rack. - Roll out the bikes and roll on the smiles!
In front, Jacques has a generously sized secure checker plate storage box, which also protects the over sized AGM battery.
Jacques insists you give him proper connections. (He’s like that.) You will need a 2" tow ball and a properly functioning 7-pin electrical connection You only have a 4-pin connection? We can loan you an adapter, just be mindful his electric brakes will only function with a 7-pin connection.
All around Jacques is remarkably well built and equipped Gnome Home with not only the essentials but some creature comforts and options as well. He loves adventures! Go ahead. Live a Little!
When can I pick up and return Jacques? ... Weekdays between 2:30 and 7 pm. Weekends between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. At pick-up allow up to 45 minutes for orientation, inspection, and paper work. At return allow 20 minutes for re-inspection and sign off.
Oh, and another important point. Jacques is not pet friendly. We love four legs with fur, but they are not allowed in Jacques.
What if at time of pick-up I do not have the hook up requirements (tow ball and electrical) as outlined ? ... Both your and Jacques's safety are important to us. Without the correct and properly functioning hitch and electrical Jacques will not be allowed to join your adventure – and he will sulk for days.

Hi everyone!
Susan and I are proud to rent our little teardrops. We've now been fortunate enough to have done it for a few years with a few different makes of teardrops. Our current Gnome Home trailers, Daisy (with her yellow fenders) and Jacques 'the explorer,' are the best we found. Hand made in Canada, outside of Edmonton, by a company that is great to deal with, we've found these have been our best 'guest' pleasures! - We like to personalize our trailers, so we always call them by their first names. - So do our guest!
Susan and I met in the hotel business. We grew up in 'Hospitality,' She was a front desk associate and I was trying to figure my way through the food and beverage side of things. I am still trying to figure out the hotel business. Susan got smarter and went on to other things. Our relationship started on a skiing afternoon in the Thunder Bay area where we worked. I said to her, 'Trust me.' and she did, even though I miscalculated a snowball trajectory which unfortunately struck her in the face!. No permanent harm done though. She still trusted me after all these years! (and some necessary groveling.)
Our idea of a vacation is freedom. I've worked in hotels for decades. It's been good, but the thought of a hotel stay while on vacation is not my idea of getting away from work.
Susan and I are not early risers when on vacation. (Crack of Noon Club charter members.) That along with our hotel experience is where our attention to our trailers' beds originate from. No existing trailer bed we found was good enough for our little teardrops. We had our mattresses made to our specs. (Ok, Susan's specs!) Hence, that's why you will read many comments about the beds in our reviews. That, and if you choose to have Susan make up the bed with her linens, oh my, you might think you are in a luxury hotel bed. 'Heaven in the morning!' all out in God's natural creation. Can there be a better way to wake up? Start the coffee.
Enjoy your well earned time away.

- Bob B.Jul 2025The unit was spotlessly clean! Susan was very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. I most certainly would rent from Susan & John again. I loved the unit the mattress was very comfortable and it was easy to pull.
