Heartland North Trail with King Size Bed

Sleeps 5 • Travel Trailer

Fort-Saskatchewan, AB (22.4 km away)

We bought this trailer new in spring of 2023 and it’s been great. We love the outdoor kitchen, outdoor shower and the king size bed the most. We have taken our 2 big dogs with us for most trips and the dining table bed works great for them to sleep on. The blackout blinds are life savers for that extra early summer sun and the ac has also been much appreciated 👌🏼The trailer is stocked with kitchen supplies including an electric kettle, French press and toaster. There’s also hammocks, rv toilet paper, folding table for outdoors, camping chairs (2 adult & 2 kid) and mattress protectors.

Discover Edmonton

Looking to hit the road but not quite sure where to go? Consider going on an RV rental road trip to Edmonton, Alberta and explore one of the youngest and fastest-growing cities in Canada. Located just a few hours from the Rocky Mountains and Jasper National Park, you’ll be surrounded by nature while having easy access to big-city entertainment. As one of Canada’s sunniest cities, with sun 325 days out of the year, it’s an ideal spot to visit year-round. However, with cold winters, the majority of campers will look to visit during the height of the summer when temperatures range between 20 and 30 celsius.

The capital of Alberta boasts plenty of fun activities to do. Take advantage of the hot summer days and spend some time exploring one of North America’s largest urban parks, the North Saskatchewan River Valley. If you’re looking for entertainment, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by Canada’s Festival City. With festivals happening every week, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone in the family. You can also visit the infamous West Edmonton Mall where you can take a thrilling ride on the indoor roller coasters, slide into World Waterpark, or play a round of bowling in between stores. Regardless of what you’re into, Edmonton has got you covered.

Settle into your home away from home at one of the many beautiful campgrounds located in the surrounding area. Elk Island Retreat has all of your basic needs covered with free Wi-Fi, coin-operated laundry, and clean showers. Each RV site is equipped with a picnic table and fire pit so you can cook up an epic barbecue dinner and roast s’mores over the fire. Your crew can take advantage of the horseshoe pits and volleyball pitches for some afternoon fun. Elk Island is a 45-minute drive from Edmonton, making it close enough for day trips into town while being far enough from city limits to ensure peace and quiet. The Retreat is at the mouth of Elk Island National Park, where you can spot bison while hiking through the spruce trees, making it an attraction on its own.

If you’re looking for a campground located within city limits, look no further than Rainbow Valley Campground. With showers, clean washrooms, a convenience store, and options for full hook-up sites, you’ll have everything you need to camp in comfort just minutes from the city-center. Located next to Whitemud Creek, expect to fall asleep to the soothing sound of rushing water. Thrill-seekers are in luck at this campground, with an aerial park on-site, you can take in Edmonton from new heights. Close to many attractions, Rainbow Valley is a convenient option for those looking to make the most of their time in the city. Leave your camper at the campground and hop on your bike in order to get around town.

Spring Lake RV Resort is a great family-friendly option for RVers looking to be immersed in nature and have plenty of on-site activities to choose from. Located 40 minutes west from downtown Edmonton, you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy your own personal oasis. This campsite is big rig friendly with pull-thru sites and has all of the amenities you need to have a comfortable stay. Try your hand at fishing from their dock or explore the sandy beach for a leisurely swim. Each site has its own picnic table and fire pit, the ideal set up for a barbecue and some s’mores. Hit up the beach volleyball courts or horseshoe pits for a game the whole crew will enjoy. Forgot something at home? No sweat, the convenience store at Spring Lake is stocked with all the essentials.

Once you've set up camp, you might be asking yourself if it's a good idea to take your Edmonton RV rental into town to explore the capital of Alberta. While the city has some street parking for RVs, it's best to make your way around using the transit system. Get a day pass and take as many rides as you need. First stop, the West Edmonton Mall. As the largest mall in North America, you'll be in awe of all that it has to offer. From shopping to mini putt, bowling to the infamous indoor roller coasters, there's something for everyone. Looking for outdoor entertainment? You're in luck, as Edmonton is known as Canada's Festival City. If you find yourself in Edmonton in mid-July, be sure to hit up the Edmonton International Street Performer's Festival. On the other hand, art lovers won't want to miss the Works Art and Design Festival that showcases art from well-known artists to up-and-coming students from all over the world.

Nature lovers can look forward to taking advantage of all that the North Saskatchewan River Valley has to offer. As the largest stretch of urban parkland in North America, there's plenty of activities to do. Open year-round, tourists have their choice of activity based on the season. Visiting in the winter? Explore the park by cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. If you're visiting in the summer, take to the water and canoe or kayak your way down the River. The many trails that weave through the park are a favourite among mountain bikers and hikers alike. Located within the park are the Muttart Conservatory and the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The Conservatory is home to three different climates and over 700 plant species. Take a walk through the pyramids and take in the beautiful collection of plants and flowers that you might not otherwise see in Canada. Animal lovers can make friends with over 350 types of animals at the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The Zoo focuses on conservation and has plenty of programs and interactive experience that lets visitors learn more about the animals.

Edmonton is located east of the Rocky Mountains and is a scenic, 4-hour drive to Jasper National Park. Once you're there, consider driving your RV down the Icefield Parkway. Rated as one of the top drives in the world, it will take you through some of the most beautiful spots in Canada. While visiting Jasper, make sure to embark on one of the many hikes in the area. You'll be surrounded by native wildlife from bears and moose to elk and bighorn sheep. Stop by Maligne Lake and take in the picture-perfect views. No matter what you decide to do in Jasper, it is sure to be a highlight on your trip to Edmonton.
