- Billy B.Aug 2026July 24th: Unable to pickup RV travel trailer due to personal reasons, communicated to Paul Montgomery which he gave his approval for pick up on Saturday the 25th. July 25th: Picked up trailer in the AM, Paul Montgomery assisted with hook-up and went through basic how-tos when we get to a RV park. He also informed us about the broken vent covers on the ceiling and how if the tape loosens & they fall just to put them in one of the cabinets for the time being since he has ordered new ones to replace them. July 26th: (Sunday) Got to Concordia Kansas when pickup broke down, replaced battery. Alternator to be installed when mechanic shop opens Monday morning. (Of course no fault due to host). Located a nice RV park there with electric and water & parked between 2 other families to hook up for the night and for the 1st time. While setting up noticed after separating the screen door from the main door both screens were torn/ripped, and when awning unrolled saw that it was also ripping at the seams. Took pictures and sent to Paul Montgomery by text. He text back that he knew about the awning but that the people before us must have damaged the screens. The temperature was in the upper high 90s. Without AC in the pickup truck we was relying on the AC in the travel trailer to keep us cool. We were traveling with 2 small pure white Pekingese dogs and they were extremely hot. The AC would not stay on, maybe at the most it would run 7 to 10 minutes before shutting off. Called and text Paul Montgomery concerning this issue. He informed us to check the circuit breaker under the frig and reset it. Also to turn off everything (frig, etc..) but the AC, which we did, still the unit would not stay on. In the mean time we had to cool down the dogs, in which we used the water hose and doused them none stop for at least 30 to 45 minutes, and at one point tried to locate an emergency veterinarian to assist when we actually thought the older dog was dying of a heat stroke. We communicated with Paul Montgomery during this whole ordeal about the issue with the AC not staying on. He stated that he never had that problem, he also informed us to keep it turned off for a few minutes 10 or so and try again. We tried over an hour unsuccessfully. During that time dealing with the heat, AC not staying on, circuit breaker issues, & dogs we had no alternative but to find and stay at the nearest pet friendly motel. Text Paul Montgomery a picture to inform him of that. This travel trailer in our opinion is definitely UNTRUSTWORTHY!!!!! We continued to stay every night during our vacation in pet friendly hotels/motels. The experience we had on our first attempt to hook up concerning the AC & circuit breaker was miserable and hope the next family who rents this will double check the unit before taking it on their vacation. July 31st: Returned the travel trailer late that evening in same condition we picked it up. When trying to unhook the battery was dead to raise/lower the hitch. Called Paul Montgomery after we arrived in which he assisted on using a manual tool to get us unhitched.
