2019 Keystone Travel Trailer
We had an amazing trip with this trailer! From the moment we picked it up, we were blown away by how spotlessly clean and perfectly organized everything was. The host went above and beyond by making sure the freshwater tanks were completely full and ready to go, which made our setup incredibly easy. I cannot say enough good things about the host. They were so kind, highly knowledgeable about the rig, and incredibly patient with me while walking me through everything. As an RVezy renter, having that kind of communication and peace of mind makes all the difference. I am already hoping to rent this exact trailer again for our next getaway. Highly recommended to anyone in the RVezy community! Much appreciated!

We had a good experience. The RV was clean when we picked it up, it was equipped with all needed amenities such as the generator as we experienced a power outage at our camp site and it was good to have backup. It was easier to drive and maneuver than we expected given the length of the vehicle. Did not use AC as it was cold, but the heater definitely works. The lady who does the pickup and drop off walk through was very helpful in going over all our questions and was flexible in giving us more time to drop off. It has a huge trunk area that we regretted not bringing kids bikes with. The RV had way more storage than we needed (2 kids 2 adults) and was toasty in colder weather camping. I would recommend this RV rental to others.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Callander, ON

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Callander, ON?

RV rental in Callander is one of the most affordable ways to explore Ontario's Near North, with most travel trailers ranging from about $100 to $175 CAD per night and Class C motorhomes typically $200 to $325 CAD per night on RVezy. Because hosts set their own pricing, you'll find both cheap RV rental Callander options for budget trips and fully loaded units for family adventures. To save, book mid-week or shoulder season (late May or September), travel with a smaller travel trailer to cut fuel costs, and watch for hosts offering free local delivery within 25 km of Lake Nipissing. Pro tip: weekly stays often unlock automatic discounts, so extending a 4-day trip to 7 nights can lower your nightly rate.

What kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Callander?

For nearly every motorhome and travel trailer listed in Callander on RVezy, a regular full Class G Ontario driver's license is all you need. Ontario allows motorhomes up to 11,000 kg to be operated on a full Class G, and a pickup towing a travel trailer or fifth wheel is fine as long as the combined weight stays within Class G limits. RVezy renters generally need to be 25 or older, and ID verification is completed right in the platform. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home country license, plus an International Driving Permit if it isn't in English or French, and you're set to rent an RV in Ontario.

What protection comes with my Callander RV rental?

Every RV rental in Callander booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 11 with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level at checkout (not the host), so you can pick the tier that fits your comfort zone and budget. It isn't traditional auto insurance, but it provides meaningful financial protection if something unexpected happens on the way to Restoule Provincial Park or around Lake Nipissing. Pro tip: review the coverage tiers in your booking flow and pick the one that lets you focus on the campfire, not the what-ifs.

What if I need to cancel my Callander RV rental?

Booking your Callander RV trip is low-risk: RVezy (not individual hosts) sets the cancellation policy, so the experience is consistent across every listing. Refund eligibility depends on how far out you are from your trip start date, and RVezy also has accommodations for extenuating circumstances, which matters in a region that occasionally sees early-season snow or wildfire smoke. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or offers travel credits so your plans aren't left in limbo. Pro tip: message the host first if your plans get shaky, since many are happy to help shift dates rather than cancel outright.

Can I bring my dog on a Callander RV rental?

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental Callander options are easy to find on RVezy: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see motorhomes and trailers whose hosts welcome dogs. Many local hosts are pet owners themselves and provide extras like seat covers or outdoor mats. Once you're here, your pup will love the lakeside trails near Callander Bay Heritage Museum, the pet exercise area at Restoule Provincial Park, and the leashed trails around North Bay just 15 minutes north. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees and let them know your dog's size so they can recommend the best layout.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Callander?

Yes, RV delivery Callander is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who'd rather skip the highway driving. Many hosts will deliver and set up your motorhome rental Callander right at your campsite, whether that's Champlain Park in North Bay, a private property along Lake Nipissing, or a nearby provincial park that allows host setup. They'll level the RV, hook up power and water, and walk you through how everything works, from the awning to the propane stove. Delivery fees are usually based on distance (often $2 to $4 per km round trip). Pro tip: ask about a stationary setup package, where the host handles drop-off and pickup so you never have to drive the RV at all.

How far can I travel from Callander on an RV road trip?

A Callander RV trip puts you in the perfect launch spot for Northern Ontario adventures. Popular routes include Algonquin Provincial Park (about 1.5 hours / 130 km southeast via Highways 11 and 60), Killarney Provincial Park on Georgian Bay (about 3 hours / 250 km west), Temagami's lake country (1.5 hours / 120 km north), Sudbury and Science North (1.5 hours / 130 km west), and Muskoka cottage country around Huntsville (1 hour / 90 km south). Where are the best campgrounds near Callander for an RV?

Some of the best campgrounds near Callander are within an easy drive, making it simple to settle in fast. Top picks include Restoule Provincial Park (about 45 minutes southwest, with electrical sites at Kettle Point Campground), Champlain Park in North Bay (just north of Callander, full-service and well kept), Bayview Camp & Cottages on Wasi Lake (close to downtown Callander with full hookups), Mikisew Provincial Park (about 45 minutes south near South River), and Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park (about 1 hour east on the Mattawa River). RV camping Callander shines because most parks back onto a lake or river. Pro tip: book Ontario Parks sites exactly 5 months in advance at 7 a.m. ET via reservations.ontarioparks.ca for the best site selection.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Callander?

The sweet spot for RV camping Callander is mid-June through mid-September, when daytime highs typically sit in the low to mid-20s C (low to mid-70s F) and Lake Nipissing warms up nicely by early August. July and August are peak season for swimming and fishing; late September into early October delivers spectacular fall colours in the surrounding maple forests with crisp days in the low-teens C. May and early June can still see overnight frost, so a heated RV is a smart call then. Pro tip: aim for the last two weeks of September for a Callander RV trip that combines warm days, cool sleeping nights, and far fewer mosquitoes, plus shoulder-season pricing on many listings.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay?

You're going to do great, and Callander is actually one of the easiest places in Ontario to learn. First time renting an RV? Your host gives you a full hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering driving, leveling, propane, water, and dump procedures, so you're never left guessing. Many Callander-area hosts also send a video orientation ahead of time and remain reachable by text during your trip. Roads around Callander are wide, traffic is light, and short practice loops along Lake Nipissing Drive are perfect for getting comfortable behind the wheel before heading to a campground. Pro tip: book a campervan rental Callander (Class B) for your first trip; they drive almost like a large van and park easily at Restoule or Champlain Park.

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV on my trip?

You're covered around the clock. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so a flat tire on Highway 11 north of Callander or a dead battery at Restoule Provincial Park is handled with one phone call. Your host is also your first line of support and usually responds quickly for questions like how to relight the fridge or reset the inverter. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after every trip through the Help Center. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number and your host's contact in your phone before you leave Callander, and download offline Google Maps for the Almaguin Highlands area where cell service can get spotty.

Can I take my Callander RV rental into the United States?

Cross-border trips into the US are sometimes possible on a Callander RV rental, but you'll need to confirm with your host before booking because not every owner's listing is approved for US travel. A popular route from Callander heads south through North Bay and Sault Ste. Marie into Michigan's Upper Peninsula, or southeast via Ottawa into the Adirondacks (about 4 to 5 hours). Travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Pro tip: message the host directly from the listing page and confirm in writing that US travel is approved, then carry your passport, vehicle ownership paperwork, and a copy of the rental agreement for a smooth border crossing.

How much will fuel cost on a Callander RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable in any RV road trip from Callander, but it's easy to budget once you know the numbers. Class B campervans average roughly 15 to 18 L/100km, Class C motorhomes burn about 20 to 28 L/100km, and large Class A units can hit 30 L/100km or more. Gas in the Callander and North Bay area typically runs about $1.45 to $1.65 CAD per litre. A round trip from Callander to Algonquin's Pog Lake Campground (about 280 km) in a Class C would burn roughly $90 to $115 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in North Bay before heading north, where prices tend to drop noticeably compared to remote stations along Highway 11.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Callander?

For Ontario Parks like Restoule, Mikisew, and Samuel de Champlain, book exactly 5 months ahead of your arrival date at 7 a.m. ET through reservations.ontarioparks.ca, which is the only official Ontario Parks reservation system. July and August long weekends (Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day) sell out within minutes, but mid-week summer sites and September dates often have great availability even a week out. Private parks like Champlain Park in North Bay and Bayview Camp & Cottages take direct phone bookings and tend to hold sites longer. Pro tip: use Campnab to get text alerts when cancellations open up at sold-out provincial parks, which is how locals snag lakefront sites at Restoule's Kettle Point Campground.

What are the driving conditions like around Callander?

Driving an RV around Callander is genuinely relaxing: Highway 11 is a divided four-lane through North Bay and Callander, traffic stays light outside cottage long weekends, and gradients are gentle compared to mountain regions. The main thing to watch for is wildlife (deer, moose, and the occasional black bear) especially at dawn and dusk on Highway 11 north toward Temagami and on Highway 534 to Restoule. Winters bring snow and lake-effect squalls from November into April, so most RV rentals operate May through October. Pro tip: plan to be parked at your campground before sunset to avoid wildlife on the road, particularly along the quieter back routes to Restoule.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Callander?

Campgrounds near Callander are well-equipped for RV travelers. Restoule Provincial Park's Kettle Point Campground has 97 electrical (30-amp) sites plus a sanitation dump station and water fill near the gatehouse, along with hot showers, flush toilets, and laundry at Putts Point comfort station. Champlain Park in North Bay and Bayview Camp & Cottages offer 30-amp full hookups (water, sewer, electric) and on-site laundry. Most Ontario Parks sites have water taps throughout the loops but no individual water hookups, so you'll fill your fresh tank at the entrance. Where to park an RV in Callander overnight: stick to designated campgrounds, as municipal lots and roadside parking aren't permitted overnight. Pro tip: empty your grey and black tanks on your way out at Restoule's dump loop, which is wide enough for two rigs at once.

What's included inside a typical Callander RV rental?

Your Callander RV rental comes ready to camp. Expect a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, propane stove, microwave, sink, and basic cookware; a bathroom with toilet and shower; comfortable sleeping for 2 to 8 depending on the unit; furnace and air conditioning; and seatbelted seating for travel. Most listings include a dinette, outdoor awning, and propane tanks filled. Many hosts also offer a generator (great for boondocking at Restoule's non-electric sites), backup camera, and basic linens or bedding kits as add-ons. Wi-Fi inside the RV is rare, but you'll get decent LTE around Callander and North Bay. Pro tip: check the listing's Amenities section for items like a BBQ, kayaks, or fishing gear, since many Lake Nipissing-area hosts include water toys at no extra charge.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Callander,Ontario

How do mileage policies, pickup, and add-ons work?

Hosts in Callander set their own mileage allowances, typically 100 to 200 km per day included, with overage at about $0.30 to $0.50 per km, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage which is ideal for a longer Ontario road trip. Popular add-ons include generators, bedding and towel kits, camp chairs, BBQ propane, bike racks, kayaks, and Starlink internet (helpful for the spotty service around Restoule). Pickup is usually at the host's home in Callander, North Bay, or East Ferris between 12 and 4 p.m., with a walkthrough that takes 30 to 45 minutes. Pro tip: ask about an early pickup the day before your campground reservation, since many hosts offer prep nights so you can load up and leave first thing in the morning.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Callander,Ontario

How does payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure through RVezy: you pay the full booking amount (rental, protection, fees) by credit card at the time of booking, always within the platform, never in cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is collected separately from your booking payment and released back to your card after the RV is returned in good condition. Deposit amounts vary by RV value but typically range from $500 to $1,500. Pro tip: take date-stamped photos and a quick walk-around video of the RV at both pickup and drop-off in Callander, especially of the tires, awning, and interior, so you have a clear record that protects your deposit.

Can I rent an RV in Callander in the winter?

Yes, winter RV rentals are available in Callander for the adventurous, though the selection is smaller. Some local hosts offer four-season units with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and proper shore-power setups designed for cold snaps (January lows around -20 C / -4 F are typical here). Winter is magical in Near North Ontario: think ice fishing on Lake Nipissing, snowmobiling the OFSC trails near Callander, and northern lights viewing on clear nights. You'll want to park at a fully serviced site with 30-amp power, like Champlain Park or a private property hookup, since most provincial parks close their RV loops by mid-October. Pro tip: filter for hosts who mention winter use, and ask about a heated water hose and skirting to keep things cozy at -15 C.
