We had a good experience. The RV was clean when we picked it up, it was equipped with all needed amenities such as the generator as we experienced a power outage at our camp site and it was good to have backup. It was easier to drive and maneuver than we expected given the length of the vehicle. Did not use AC as it was cold, but the heater definitely works. The lady who does the pickup and drop off walk through was very helpful in going over all our questions and was flexible in giving us more time to drop off. It has a huge trunk area that we regretted not bringing kids bikes with. The RV had way more storage than we needed (2 kids 2 adults) and was toasty in colder weather camping. I would recommend this RV rental to others.

RV rental in Nipissing is an affordable way to experience Ontario's lake country. Travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 CAD per night, Class C motorhomes range from $200 to $350, and larger Class A rigs run $300 to $450 depending on season and amenities. What license do I need to rent an RV in Nipissing?

A standard Ontario Class G driver's licence (or your equivalent from home) is all you need to rent an RV in Nipissing. No special RV licence, air-brake endorsement, or commercial licence is required for the motorhomes and trailers listed on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older and must upload a clear photo of their licence so RVezy can confirm ID through the platform before pickup. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home licence plus an International Driving Permit if your licence is not in English or French. Most first-time renters are surprised how simple the paperwork really is.

Is RV rental in Nipissing covered by insurance and roadside assistance?

Every RV rental in Nipissing booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 11 with peace of mind. The protection plan covers physical damage to the RV up to the plan limits and includes liability coverage, with the coverage level selected by you (the guest) at checkout, not the host. If you get a flat near Mattawa or a dead battery at a remote Lake Nipissing boat launch, one call gets help dispatched any time of day. That safety net is a big reason families feel confident booking their first Nipissing RV trip.

What is the cancellation policy when I rent an RV in Nipissing?

Booking is low-risk. RVezy sets the cancellation policy centrally rather than leaving it to individual hosts, and the full terms are published on the RVezy Help Center rather than on each listing. Your refund depends on how far before the trip you cancel and whether the booking is still within the post-booking grace period. Because the policy is standardized, you know exactly what to expect before you confirm your Lake Nipissing dates. Pro tip: book early to secure the best Lake Nipissing rigs for the July long weekend or fall colour week, then review the cancellation terms on the RVezy Help Center before you confirm.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Nipissing?

Yes. Many hosts offer a pet-friendly RV rental in Nipissing, and you can find them in seconds by toggling the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy. Lake Nipissing is a dream for dogs: leashed pups are welcome on the Kate Pace Way trail in North Bay and at most provincial day-use areas nearby. Ontario Parks campgrounds at Mikisew and Marten River allow leashed pets at most RV sites, and private parks like Sturgeon Falls KOA also welcome dogs. Pro tip: message the host before booking to mention your dog's size and breed; many hosts include extras like a pet bed or outdoor mat that make RV camping in Nipissing smoother for everyone.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Nipissing?

Yes, RV delivery in Nipissing is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers who would rather skip driving a big rig on Highway 17. Many local hosts will tow or drive the motorhome straight to your campsite at places like Mikisew Provincial Park, Marten River Provincial Park, or Sturgeon Falls KOA, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. Filter for Delivery on RVezy to see which listings offer it and the typical fee, which scales with distance from North Bay. Pro tip: ask for delivery and pickup so you can drive your own car the whole trip and just enjoy the lake.

How far can I drive on a Nipissing RV trip with the included mileage?

You will have plenty of range to explore. Most Nipissing hosts include between 100 and 200 km per night, and many offer an RV rental with unlimited mileage option, which is ideal for an RV road trip from Nipissing. For context: North Bay to Algonquin Park's east gate is about 130 km, Nipissing to Sudbury is roughly 125 km, and a loop around Lake Nipissing through Sturgeon Falls and back is around 200 km. Each listing shows mileage allowances clearly before you book, and extra-kilometre fees typically run $0.30 to $0.45 per km. Pro tip: if you are heading to Killarney or Manitoulin Island, filter for unlimited mileage upfront.

Where are the best campgrounds near Nipissing for an RV?

You are spoiled for choice. Top campgrounds near Nipissing for RV camping include Mikisew Provincial Park on Eagle Lake (sandy beach, electrical sites, about 50 km east of North Bay), Marten River Provincial Park (classic Northern Ontario pines, roughly 65 km north on Highway 11), Sturgeon Falls KOA Holiday on the Sturgeon River (full hookups, pool, family-friendly), and Champlain Park / Fairview area campgrounds right in North Bay on Lake Nipissing. Pro tip: Ontario Parks reservations open five months in advance to the day at 7:00 a.m. ET, so set an alarm for waterfront sites in July and August.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Nipissing?

Nipissing shines in three windows. Mid-June through August is prime time, with daytime highs around 24 to 26 °C in nearby North Bay, warm Lake Nipissing swimming, and long northern daylight into the evening. September into early October delivers spectacular fall colours along Highway 11 and the Mattawa River, cool nights around 5 to 10 °C, and far fewer bugs. May and late September are smart shoulder seasons with lower rates. Winters here are true Northern Ontario winters, with January daily lows often near -16 °C, so cold-season rentals require a four-season RV with heated tanks. Pro tip: book your July rig by February for the best selection.

I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Nipissing?

You have got this, and Nipissing is a great place for first time renting an RV. Highways 11 and 17 around Lake Nipissing are wide, well-maintained, and far less stressful than big-city driving. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, covering driving, levelling, water, propane, the toilet, and the awning before you leave the driveway. You can message them anytime during your trip, and 24/7 roadside assistance is one tap away. Nervous about towing or backing up? Choose a Class B campervan rental in Nipissing or a Class C motorhome rental in Nipissing instead of a fifth wheel. Pro tip: keep your first day's drive short, such as North Bay to Marten River, so you arrive in daylight.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirements

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You are never on your own. Every RV rental in Nipissing booked through RVezy comes with 24/7 roadside assistance included with the renter protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical breakdowns. If your generator quits at Mikisew Provincial Park or you blow a tire on Highway 17 near Sturgeon Falls, one phone call gets help on the way, day or night. Your host is also just a message away for quick how-to questions, and the RVezy support team is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a photo of the RV's tire size and VIN at pickup, it makes any roadside call faster.

What are the best road trips from Nipissing?

A Nipissing RV trip is a great launchpad for Ontario's best routes. Popular options include North Bay to Algonquin Provincial Park's east gate (about 130 km, around 1.5 hours) for moose-spotting and paddling; Nipissing to Killarney Provincial Park (roughly 300 km, around 3.5 hours) for the famous La Cloche white quartzite ridges; Nipissing to Manitoulin Island via the Chi-Cheemaun ferry from Tobermory; and the Mattawa River route east toward Ottawa. Travel within Canada is permitted on RVezy rentals. Cross-border travel into the United States may be allowed depending on the host and the protection plan, so message the host directly to confirm before booking.

What should I budget for fuel on a Nipissing RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable cost, but it is easy to plan for. Gas in the North Bay and Nipissing area typically runs about $1.45 to $1.65 CAD per litre, with diesel a few cents higher. Real-world consumption on a Class C motorhome rental in Nipissing averages 18 to 22 L/100 km, a Class B campervan does 12 to 15 L/100 km, and travel trailer fuel use depends on your tow vehicle. For a 500 km loop around Lake Nipissing through Sturgeon Falls and Verner, plan on roughly $130 to $180 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in North Bay or Sturgeon Falls before heading north on Highway 11, prices climb noticeably past Temagami.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Nipissing?

Earlier is better, especially for waterfront sites. Ontario Parks uses a rolling five-month reservation window that opens at 7:00 a.m. ET to the day, so for a July 15 arrival at Mikisew or Marten River Provincial Park, you will want to be online February 15 at 7:00 a.m. sharp. Private parks like Sturgeon Falls KOA Holiday and lakeside resorts on Lake Nipissing usually open bookings in January and fill summer weekends by April. Pro tip: if you strike out on a Saturday night, book Sunday to Thursday instead, midweek availability around Lake Nipissing is wide open and rates are often lower.

What are local driving conditions like around Nipissing?

Driving around Nipissing is refreshingly straightforward. Highway 11 and Highway 17 (the Trans-Canada) are paved, well-signed routes with regular rest stops and fuel. Watch for moose and deer at dawn and dusk, especially north of North Bay toward Temagami and along Highway 17 to Mattawa, where wildlife crossing signs are common. In winter (November to April) expect snow, ice and occasional whiteouts, so most renters stick to May through October. Summer thunderstorms can roll in quickly over Lake Nipissing, so check Environment Canada before you head out. Pro tip: the bypass around North Bay saves time and avoids the downtown lights when driving a Class A motorhome rental in Nipissing.

What hookups and amenities will I find at Nipissing campgrounds?

You will find a mix that suits every comfort level. Most private parks around Lake Nipissing, like Sturgeon Falls KOA Holiday and lakeside resorts in the North Bay area, offer full 30- or 50-amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups, plus on-site dump stations, potable water fills, laundry, Wi-Fi, and showers. Ontario Parks sites at Mikisew and Marten River typically offer electrical-only sites with a central comfort station, water taps, and a dump station near the gatehouse. Pro tip: top up fresh water and dump your tanks at the park exit before driving home, the next public dump station heading south on Highway 11 toward Huntsville can be a long way down the road.

What is included inside a typical Nipissing RV rental?

More than you might expect. A typical motorhome rental in Nipissing comes ready to camp with a queen or king bed, bunks or convertible dinette for the kids, a full kitchen (fridge, propane stove, microwave, sink, cookware), a bathroom with toilet and shower, roof-mounted air conditioning, a furnace, and seatbelted travel seats for everyone on board. Most rigs include an awning, outdoor camp chairs, fresh linens, and a starter kit of toilet paper and dish soap. Many hosts also offer a generator, Wi-Fi hotspot, or Starlink as an add-on, great for a family RV trip Nipissing-style when the kids want a movie night. Pro tip: confirm bed sizes in the listing before booking so everyone sleeps comfortably.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Nipissing%2C+Ontario

What add-ons and pickup options are available for an RV rental in Nipissing?

You can tailor your rental easily. Popular add-ons from Nipissing hosts include generators (typically $15 to $30 per night), bike racks, kayak or SUP carriers, BBQs, outdoor patio mats, fishing-gear kits (handy on Lake Nipissing's walleye waters), and linen or kitchen packages. Pickup is usually from the host's home base in North Bay, Sturgeon Falls, or surrounding Nipissing townships, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Mileage policies, generator hours, and pet fees are listed clearly on every listing before you book. Pro tip: if you are chasing the famous Lake Nipissing walleye opener in May, add the fishing package and ask the host for their favourite launch.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Nipissing%2C+Ontario

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple, secure, and handled entirely through RVezy, so you never hand cash to a host. You pay for your Nipissing RV rental by credit card at booking, and a refundable security deposit (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig) is held separately from your booking payment around the time of pickup. As long as the RV is returned in the same condition, the hold is released after your trip wraps up. To avoid surprises, do a quick walkthrough video at pickup and again at drop-off, and stay within your mileage and generator allowances. Pro tip: use a credit card with enough available limit to comfortably cover the deposit hold plus your fuel and groceries.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I rent an RV in Nipissing in the winter?

Yes, and a winter Nipissing RV trip is a true Northern Ontario adventure. Some RVezy hosts list four-season RVs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, upgraded insulation and high-output furnaces, well suited for ice-fishing on Lake Nipissing's famous walleye ice, snowmobiling the OFSC trail network, or a cozy stay near North Bay's Laurentian Ski Hill. Plan to stay at a campground with shore power and a maintained water fill, because most parks shut off water lines from November to April. Pro tip: ask the host for a heated water hose add-on and skirting, and dress for January lows that can dip near -25 °C.
