Very simple to book, reserve, communicate, meet-up, operate, return, etc. I would recommend to all! Perfect size RV and amenities for what I was looking for. Family of five. We had everything we needed, with nothing too fancy that may be difficult to operate or take away from the camping experience.

Wonderful across the board. The RV was clean, drove perfectly (mountains of Colorado and New Mexico), and was impeccably organized. They have clearly thought through all the things that might be needed on a long trip and made them easily accessible. The toilet cassette was easy to empty (particularly in a latrine -- 3-5 minutes with no mess). The refrigerator and cabinets have plenty of space and beds were comfortable. It was easy to stop and sleep overnight in parks. We were really pleased and would happily rent this RV again.

On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers from around $90 to $160 per night, Class C motorhomes between $175 and $275 per night, and roomy Class A rigs from $225 to $375 per night. Hosts set their own pricing, so weekday nights and shoulder-season weeks in late April or September are where you'll find the cheapest RV rental Antioch has to offer. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Antioch?

For most rentals, your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Antioch. Illinois has weight-based license classes, but the vast majority of RVs listed on RVezy in the area, including travel trailers, campervans, and Class C motorhomes, fall under the 16,000-pound Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) limit covered by a standard Class D license. You'll also need to be at least 25 years old and verify your ID through the RVezy platform during booking. Visiting from out of state? Illinois recognizes your home state license classification, so you're good to go. First time renting an RV? Message the host before booking and they'll happily confirm the rig's weight class.

What protection comes with my RVezy booking in Antioch?

You'll have real peace of mind from the moment you book. What if I need to cancel my Antioch RV rental?

You can book your Antioch RV rental with confidence. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, and there's a grace period after booking where you can get a full refund if your plans change. Beyond that, refunds depend on how far in advance you cancel relative to your trip start date. Because the cancellation policy is platform-wide, you won't see different terms on each listing. If you're unsure, RVezy's support team can walk you through the details before you commit, so booking your Antioch getaway feels low-risk from day one.

Can I bring my dog on an RV rental in Antioch?

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental Antioch options are easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see hosts who welcome dogs (some accept cats and other pets too, just message to confirm). Once you're on the road, the area is a tail-wagger's dream: Chain O'Lakes State Park allows leashed pets on trails and in most campgrounds, and the Antioch Bark Park at Trevor Creek gives your pup a fenced romp before heading out. Many lakeside campgrounds, including Grass Lake Marina and RV Park, welcome well-behaved dogs on leash. Pro tip: pack a towel for muddy paws after lake swims.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Antioch?

Yes, RV delivery in Antioch is one of the most popular options on RVezy, and it's a game-changer if you've never towed or driven a big rig. You've got serious road-trip range from Antioch, and many hosts offer generous mileage policies, with some allowing unlimited mileage for longer bookings. Popular drives include Milwaukee, Wisconsin (about 55 miles north), Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (around 30 miles northwest for a charming lakeside detour), downtown Chicago (roughly 60 miles south), Starved Rock State Park (about 110 miles southwest), and Wisconsin Dells (around 165 miles north for a classic family RV trip). Where are the best campgrounds near Antioch for RV camping?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Antioch. Chain O'Lakes State Park (8916 Wilmot Rd) is the local crown jewel with over 230 sites across Honey Suckle Hollow, Fox Den, Turner Lake South, Prairie View, and Mud Lake East, starting at just $25 per night on standard weekends. Grass Lake Marina and RV Park (26250 W Heart O Lakes Blvd) offers 200 full-hookup waterfront sites with marina access. Fox River Recreation on Illinois 173 sits right on the water, and Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort in nearby Volo is a family favorite with an 80-acre lake. Reserve Chain O'Lakes sites at camp.exploremoreil.com well ahead for summer weekends.

When is the best time of year for an Antioch RV trip?

Late May through early October is the sweet spot for an Antioch RV trip, and each window has its own charm. July is peak season with highs around 82°F, long lake days, and the busiest weekends on the Chain O'Lakes. June can be lush but rainy (it's the wettest month at about 3.5 inches of rain), while September delivers warm 70s, fewer crowds, and dramatically cheaper campsite availability. October brings spectacular fall color along the Fox River before campgrounds close around October 31. Insider tip: the weekend after Labor Day is the local secret. The weather's still summery, the lakes are quiet, and you can actually snag a Fox Den waterfront site.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Antioch?

You'll be more comfortable than you think, even if it's your first time renting an RV. Antioch is a small town of about 14,000 people with wide, flat roads, easy highway access via IL-173 and US-12, and almost no urban congestion (downtown Chicago traffic is 60 miles south of you). Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving, hookups, slide-outs, and the propane system before you leave. Need extra reassurance? Choose delivery so the host parks and levels the RV for you at the campsite. Pro tip: practice a few right-hand turns in the parking lot before heading to Chain O'Lakes State Park's narrow campground loops.
ilsos.gov/publications/rules_of_the_road/home.html

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you've got a flat on Grass Lake Road, a dead house battery at Turner Lake South campground, or you're locked out at a Fox Lake boat launch, one phone call gets help dispatched. Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app, and most Antioch-area hosts are local, often within 15 minutes of Chain O'Lakes State Park. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after your trip for anything billing or booking related. Save the roadside number to your phone before pickup and relax.

Can I take my Antioch RV rental into Wisconsin or other states?

Yes, and you'll love how easy it is. Antioch sits just a few miles south of the Wisconsin border, so cross-state RV trips are practically the norm here. Most hosts allow travel throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, and the broader Midwest with the renter protection plan fully active. Popular routes include Lake Geneva (30 miles), Milwaukee (55 miles), Door County (about 200 miles), and Wisconsin Dells (165 miles). Confirm out-of-state travel with your host before booking. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, and travel to Canada may be allowed by some hosts with advance approval. Insider tip: a quick hop into Twin Lakes, Wisconsin makes for a fun half-day side trip.

What about fuel costs and MPG for an Antioch RV trip?

Budgeting is easier than you'd guess. Travel trailers don't burn extra fuel themselves; your tow vehicle does, typically dropping 3 to 5 MPG when hauling. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 MPG, and Class A rigs land around 7 to 10 MPG. Gas prices in Lake County, IL typically run about $0.30 to $0.50 above the national average due to state fuel taxes, so filling up just across the border in Wisconsin can save real money on longer trips. Pro tip: top off in Twin Lakes or Salem, Wisconsin before heading back south, and stick to 60 mph on I-94 for the best fuel economy.

How far ahead should I book campgrounds near Antioch?

Earlier is always better, especially for waterfront sites. Chain O'Lakes State Park reservations open six months out at camp.exploremoreil.com, and summer weekends (especially Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day) book solid within hours. For Grass Lake Marina, Fox River Recreation, or Fish Lake Beach Camping Resort, aim for two to three months ahead for July and August stays. Midweek and September trips are far more forgiving and often bookable a week out. Insider tip: if Chain O'Lakes is full, check the state park reservation page on Wednesday mornings, when cancellation releases hit and prime sites at Honey Suckle Hollow often pop back up.
camp.exploremoreil.com/

What are local driving conditions like around Antioch?

Driving conditions around Antioch are about as RV-friendly as Illinois gets. The terrain is flat to gently rolling, roads are well-maintained, and the main routes (IL-173, US-12, IL-83, and I-94 just east) handle big rigs easily. Avoid downtown Antioch's Main Street during the Friday night summer car shows, when traffic crawls. Summer thunderstorms pop up fast between June and August, so check radar before crossing the long, exposed causeways over the Chain O'Lakes. Winter brings snow, ice, and freezing temperatures from December through March (lows around 15°F in January), which is why most local hosts pause rentals or limit them to winterized rigs during that stretch. Pro tip: avoid I-94 southbound on Sunday afternoons when Wisconsin weekenders flood back to Chicago.

What amenities will I find at Antioch-area campgrounds?

Antioch-area campgrounds are well-equipped for a smooth stay. Chain O'Lakes State Park's Class A-Premium sites at Honey Suckle Hollow and Fox Den offer electric hookups, a dump station, drinking water spigots, flush toilets, showers, and a seasonal concession stand open April through mid-October that sells firewood, ice, and bait. Grass Lake Marina and RV Park provides full water and sewer hookups at each site plus marina access. For dumping and freshwater fills outside campgrounds, Chain O'Lakes State Park's dump station is open to the public for a small fee. Insider tip: bring your own firewood since gathering wood in the state park is not allowed.
dnr.illinois.gov/parks/camp/park.chainolakes.html

What's inside the RVs available for rent in Antioch?

You'll find rigs ranging from cozy campervans for two to family-sized Class A motorhomes that sleep eight. Expect real beds (queens are standard, with bunks in family models), a kitchen with a fridge, stovetop, microwave, sink, and cookware, plus a bathroom with toilet and shower in most Class B, C, and A rentals. Air conditioning, furnace heat, and propane appliances come standard, and many hosts include a generator for boondocking, plus outdoor camp chairs and a Bluetooth stereo. TVs and WiFi hotspots vary by listing, so check the amenities tab. Seatbelts are provided for everyone listed in the sleeps count. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count to match your group size precisely.
nhtsa.gov/

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about for my Antioch rental?

You can truly customize your trip. Antioch hosts commonly offer add-ons like bedding and linen packages, kitchen kits, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, portable grills, bike racks, kayaks, generators, and even tank-emptying service so you can return the RV without a dump stop. Pickup and drop-off times are set by each host and shown on the listing, with many offering flexible windows. Mileage allowances and unlimited mileage upgrades vary by host as well. Pro tip: bundle the linens and kitchen kit on your first rental so you arrive ready to fire up the grill at Honey Suckle Hollow.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. You'll pay through the RVezy platform when you book, with the rental cost, protection plan, and any add-ons charged via credit card according to RVezy's payment schedule. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment shortly before your trip starts, then released back to your card after a smooth return. Never pay a host directly or send money outside the platform, as that voids your protection coverage. Pro tip: do a quick walk-around video with the host at both pickup and drop-off in Antioch, so there's a clear record of the RV's condition and your deposit returns hassle-free.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Can I rent an RV in Antioch during winter or for a cold-weather trip?

Yes, and winter on the Chain O'Lakes has a quiet magic all its own. Antioch winters are genuinely cold (January averages a low of 15°F with regular snow), so winter rentals on RVezy are limited to four-season rigs with heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and reliable furnaces. Message hosts directly to confirm winterization before booking, and plan to use shore power hookups at campgrounds that stay open year-round. Chain O'Lakes State Park offers winter activities like ice fishing on Grass and Marie lakes, cross-country skiing, and ice skating. Pro tip: pack extra propane and a small space heater, and book a site with 30-amp or 50-amp electric to keep things toasty when temperatures dip below zero.
