Recent Great Falls RV rental reviews

2018 Winnebago Class A
We were privileged to be the first family to rent Troy's RV! We had 3 adults and 2 teens along for the 15 day trip. We had plenty of room and didn't even need the table bed. Very spacious and comfortable RV. Driving it really was a breeze even though the first minutes behind the wheel were intimidating knowing it was someone else's prized possession. It didn't take long at all to relax and cruise, enjoying the sights through the large windows. Troy was awesome to work with! He's very communicable through the app, text messages, etc We got very thorough instructions before take off along with some written notes and the manual in case of an emergency. Troy was easy to work. We'd do it all over again with him if the future ever allows.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Great Falls, MT

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Great Falls, MT?

RV rental in Great Falls is one of the best values in the Rocky Mountain region, with nightly rates typically ranging from $95 to $175 for travel trailers and small campervans, $150 to $250 for Class C motorhomes, and $250 to $400 for larger Class A coaches. You'll find the lowest prices in shoulder seasons (April to mid-June and September to October) when Great Falls weather is still beautiful but Glacier-bound crowds have thinned. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Great Falls, Montana?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Great Falls, Montana. Montana does not require a special recreational vehicle license or a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal-use motorhomes, so your standard Class D license works for Class A, Class B campervans, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, and fifth wheels. To book on RVezy you'll need to be 25 or older and complete ID verification inside the platform when you reserve. Visiting from another country? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license and you're ready to roll toward Glacier or Yellowstone.

What is the cancellation policy for a Great Falls RV rental?

Booking your Great Falls RV trip is low-risk thanks to RVezy's platform-wide cancellation policy, which RVezy (not individual hosts) sets so every guest gets consistent treatment. If a host needs to cancel, RVezy helps you secure a refund or rebooking so your trip stays on track. Review the full cancellation policy in the RVezy Help Center before you confirm your booking.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Great Falls?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Great Falls is easy to find: toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see plenty of hosts who welcome dogs. Great Falls is a dog-friendly city where leashed pups are welcome on the River's Edge Trail along the Missouri River and at Giant Springs State Park. Great Falls KOA Holiday and Dick's RV Park both allow leashed pets, and trails in Lewis and Clark National Forest south of town are great for off-grid hikes. Pro tip: message your host before booking to confirm any pet fee, and pack a tie-out for breezy prairie evenings.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or hotel in Great Falls?

Yes, RV delivery in Great Falls is offered by many local Hosts, which is a huge win if it's your first time renting an RV or you've flown into Great Falls International Airport (GTF) without a tow vehicle. Hosts can deliver and set up your motorhome or travel trailer at popular spots like Great Falls KOA Holiday on 51st Street South, Great Falls RV Park on 11th Street SW, or Dick's RV Park along the Sun River. Many also deliver to Glacier-area campgrounds up US-89 for an added mileage fee. Filter listings by Delivery, then message the Host with your dates and drop-off address to get an exact quote, you'll be parked, leveled, and walked through everything before they leave.

How far can I drive on my Great Falls RV trip, and how does mileage work?

Great Falls sits at the crossroads of Montana, making it an ideal launchpad for an RV road trip from Great Falls in almost any direction. Glacier National Park's east entrance is about 180 miles north via US-89, Yellowstone's north gate is 311 miles south, Banff in Canada is around 380 miles, and Bozeman is a 220-mile cruise on I-15. Every Host on RVezy sets their own mileage policy: some include 100 to 150 free miles per night, others offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is the smart pick for long Glacier or Yellowstone loops. Use the listing's mileage info to estimate overages (typically $0.35 to $0.50 per extra mile) and message the Host if you're planning a big route.

Where are the best campgrounds near Great Falls, MT for RV camping?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Great Falls. Great Falls KOA Holiday on 51st Street South is the family favorite, with full hookups, a pool, hot tub, and free pancake breakfasts. For a quieter escape, Prewett Creek RV Park in Cascade (about 36 miles south) puts you right across from the Missouri. Book July and August sites 2 to 3 months ahead, they fill fast.

When is the best time to rent an RV in Great Falls, Montana?

The sweet spot for a Great Falls RV trip is mid-June through mid-September, when daytime highs sit comfortably in the upper 70s to mid-80s°F and the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier is fully open (usually early July to mid-October). July is the warmest and driest month, averaging around 82°F, while May and early June are the greenest thanks to the area's wettest weeks. Shoulder seasons (late April to early June, and September) are the smart-money move: fewer crowds, cooler nights in the 40s, and lower nightly rates. Pro tip: pack layers year-round, Great Falls is famously windy and prairie weather can swing 30 degrees in an afternoon.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay renting in Great Falls?

You're going to do great, and Great Falls is honestly one of the friendliest places in the country to learn. The city has wide, flat streets, light traffic compared to any major metro, and easy I-15 access for getting comfortable before heading into the mountains. Every RVezy Host provides a full walkthrough at pickup covering hookups, slide-outs, the generator, and dump procedures, so you'll never feel left to figure it out alone. For first time renting an RV, consider starting with a smaller Class C or campervan rental in Great Falls, then plan an easy first night at Great Falls KOA (just 5 miles off I-15 Exit 278) to practice setup before driving US-89 toward Glacier.

What happens if I have a breakdown or roadside emergency in Montana?

You're covered: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking, so help is just a phone call away whether you're outside Great Falls or deep in Lewis and Clark National Forest. The service handles common issues like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to the nearest qualified service center. Cell coverage along I-15 and US-89 is generally solid, but it can get thin in the Rocky Mountain Front and around Augusta or Choteau, so save the RVezy support number offline before you head out. Pro tip: download offline maps for the Glacier and Lewis and Clark National Forest areas, and let your Host know your rough route, they often have great local mechanic recommendations.
mdt.mt.gov/travinfo/

Can I take my Great Falls RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes, interstate travel is welcome on most RVezy rentals from Great Falls, so popular routes like Glacier National Park, Yellowstone via Bozeman, the Black Hills of South Dakota, and Banff/Jasper in Alberta are all on the table. Cross-border travel into Canada is allowed by many Hosts (just confirm in advance and bring your passport for the Sweet Grass/Coutts border crossing about 120 miles north). Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Message the Host with your planned itinerary before booking so they can confirm and adjust mileage if needed. A classic loop: Great Falls to Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park is just 220 miles up I-15 and US-89.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for my Great Falls RV trip?

Budgeting fuel for your RV rental in Montana is easier than you'd think. Expect roughly 8 to 10 MPG for a Class A motorhome, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, 18 to 22 MPG for a Class B campervan rental in Great Falls, and 12 to 16 MPG for a truck towing a travel trailer. Montana gas prices typically run a bit below the national average, and Great Falls has plenty of large-vehicle-friendly stations along 10th Avenue South and near I-15 Exit 278. For a round-trip Great Falls to Glacier (about 360 miles), plan roughly $120 to $180 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: fill up in Great Falls before heading up US-89, prices climb noticeably in small mountain towns.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book campgrounds for a Montana RV trip?

Book early and you'll thank yourself. For Glacier National Park campgrounds like Apgar, Fish Creek, St. Mary, and Many Glacier, reservations open six months in advance on Recreation.gov and the popular sites disappear within minutes for July and August. In-town parks like Great Falls KOA Holiday and Great Falls RV Park usually accept reservations 3 to 6 months out and have better last-minute availability. Montana State Parks can be booked through the state's reservation system several months ahead. Pro tip: if Glacier is full, base out of Great Falls or St. Mary and day-trip in, you'll save money and still experience Going-to-the-Sun Road.

Is RV rental in Great Falls a good option for a Glacier National Park trip?

Yes, renting an RV in Great Falls is a smart base for a Glacier National Park trip. Great Falls International Airport (GTF) offers easy fly-in pickup, and US-89 runs straight north about 180 miles to Glacier's east entrance at St. Mary. Many RVezy hosts in Great Falls offer delivery to local campgrounds or the airport, and some include generous mileage allowances suited to longer Glacier or Yellowstone loops. For first-time renters, a Class C motorhome or campervan from Great Falls strikes a great balance of comfort and easy handling on Montana's wide, open highways.
