Nice clean little camper for 4. Nicely appointed but Bring a rug or mat for in front of camper & inside door. Longer water hose & electrical cord would be helpful. We were glad to have the generator for back up because the elec. cord was not always long enough. Know what you need and ask. Paul added a drip coffee machine & toaster for us. Bedding & towels were clean & nice. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well

We rented this RV for a weekend getaway and had a fantastic experience. The RV was clean, well-stocked, and spacious! The owner gave us a quick instruction sheet so we felt comfortable using all the hookups and appliances. Everything worked as expected — fridge stayed cold, A/C kept us comfortable, and the beds were surprisingly cozy. Pick-up and drop-off were smooth, and the host was responsive to questions. It made our trip so much easier compared to tent camping. Highly recommend for a fun weekend adventure!”

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Gladstone, OR

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Gladstone, OR?

RV rental in Gladstone is more affordable than you might expect, with most nightly rates ranging from about $90 for compact travel trailers up to $250 for large Class A motorhomes. Campervans and small Class C motorhomes typically land in the $130 to $180 per night range, which is competitive with the broader Portland metro market. To find a cheap RV rental in Gladstone, aim for midweek pickups, book outside the July to August peak, and look for travel trailers if a host can deliver to your campsite. Pro tip: use the price-range filter on RVezy and message a few hosts directly. Many Gladstone owners offer multi-night discounts that aren't always shown upfront.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Gladstone?

Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Gladstone, OR. Oregon does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for motorhomes under 26,000 pounds, which covers virtually every Class A, Class B, and Class C rental on RVezy. RVezy requires approved drivers to be 25 or older, and your ID is verified through the platform during booking, so there's no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (usually under $25 from your local auto club). Most first-timers are surprised how smooth the process is once they meet their host.

What protection and roadside assistance comes with a Gladstone RV rental?

Every booking on RVezy includes a protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit Highway 99E or head up to Mount Hood with real peace of mind. The protection plan covers most physical damage to the RV during your trip, which means a stray pinecone in Mount Hood National Forest or a tight squeeze at a Clackamette Park boat ramp won't ruin your week. RVezy offers multiple coverage levels, and you choose your protection tier during checkout, not the host. Roadside assistance is just a phone call away if you get a flat near Estacada or need help leveling at a campsite. It's the kind of safety net that lets first-timers actually enjoy the trip.

What happens if I need to cancel my Gladstone RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and there's a grace-period window after booking where you can cancel and get your money back. Beyond that, your refund depends on how far out from your trip you cancel and whether anything unexpected happens like a wildfire closure on Mount Hood or a severe winter storm in the Clackamas River valley. Because Oregon weather can shift quickly in shoulder seasons, RVezy's customer support team reviews cancellations tied to natural events case by case. Pro tip: book early to lock in the best rigs for summer weekends. You'll have plenty of flexibility to adjust before your departure date.

Can I bring my dog on a Gladstone RV rental?

Absolutely, pet-friendly RV rental in Gladstone is easy to find. Just flip on the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see plenty of motorhomes and travel trailers from local hosts who welcome dogs. Once you're rolling, Gladstone is genuinely dog-friendly: Meldrum Bar Park along the Willamette River has off-leash access and river views, and Oregon City's nearby dog areas give your pup somewhere to stretch after a drive. Heading further out, Milo McIver State Park near Estacada allows leashed pets on trails and at campsites. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and ask about a pet-friendly walkthrough so your dog feels at home from day one.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Gladstone?

Yes, RV delivery in Gladstone is one of the smartest ways to start your trip, especially if you're new to RVing. Many Gladstone-area hosts will drop the rig directly at your campsite at Milo McIver State Park, Champoeg State Heritage Area, or even a private driveway in the Portland metro area, then set up the slide-outs, hookups, and awning before walking you through every system. Use the Delivery filter on RVezy to see hosts who offer this service and their delivery radius. Pro tip: delivery is a game-changer if you're nervous about driving a big rig through Portland traffic on I-205. You skip the freeway and start your vacation already parked.

How far can I drive from Gladstone in an RV rental?

You can cover serious ground on a Gladstone RV trip thanks to its location 12 miles south of Portland right off I-205. Mount Hood is about 50 miles east (around 75 minutes), the Oregon Coast at Cannon Beach is roughly 95 miles northwest (under 2 hours), Crater Lake National Park sits about 250 miles south (4.5 to 5 hours), and the Columbia River Gorge waterfalls begin just 30 miles east. Each Gladstone host sets their own mileage policy: some include 100 to 150 miles per night, while a few offer RV rental with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: filter by unlimited mileage on RVezy if you're planning a loop through the Cascades or down the coast.

Where should I camp near Gladstone?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Gladstone. Clackamette RV Park right next door in Oregon City sits at the confluence of the Clackamas and Willamette Rivers with water and electric hookups and an on-site dump station, perfect for a quick first night. Milo McIver State Park near Estacada (about 25 miles east) offers full-hookup sites, huge evergreens, and Clackamas River access. Champoeg State Heritage Area, roughly 30 miles south on the Willamette, has electrical hookups, paved sites, and miles of bike paths. For Columbia River views, Ainsworth State Park is about 45 miles east in the Gorge. Pro tip: these are among the best campgrounds near Gladstone, and they fill up fast for summer weekends.

When is the best time to take an RV trip from Gladstone?

Late June through early October is the sweet spot for a Gladstone RV trip, when the Willamette Valley shifts into its dry summer pattern. July and August average highs near 82 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit with very little rain, ideal for Mount Hood and coast trips. September is a local favorite: warm afternoons, smaller crowds, and salmon running in the Clackamas River. May and early June bring lush greenery and pleasant 65 to 75 degree days with occasional showers. Winters are mild but wet, so many RV camping Gladstone trips in winter shift toward hookup parks rather than tent-style state parks. Pro tip: book May or September for the best rates and the most available rigs.

I've never rented an RV before, will I actually be okay driving one?

You'll be fine, and you're not alone: most people renting an RV in Gladstone are first-timers. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, hookups, slide-outs, tank dumping, and basic driving tips before you leave. Many recommend a short practice loop on quieter roads like McLoughlin Boulevard south of Gladstone before merging onto I-205. If you're truly nervous, ask for delivery and start with the RV already parked at your campsite. Pro tip for first time renting an RV: choose a Class C or campervan rental in Gladstone for your first trip. They drive a lot like a big van, and you'll feel confident within the first hour.

What happens if the RV breaks down during my trip?

Don't worry, you're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, whether you're parked at Clackamette RV Park or stranded on Highway 26 heading to Mount Hood. One phone call gets help dispatched for flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and most mechanical issues. Your host is also reachable directly through the RVezy app if you have a quick question about the water pump or the awning. Cell coverage is strong throughout the Portland metro and along I-5 and I-84, with occasional weak spots deep in Mount Hood National Forest. Pro tip: snap a quick video of the host's orientation at pickup so you can rewatch any step if something acts up on the road.

Can I drive my Gladstone RV rental into Washington or down to California?

Yes, interstate RV road trips from Gladstone are very common, and crossing the Columbia River into Washington (just 15 miles north on I-205) is allowed on every RVezy rental. California is also fair game: many guests drive south on I-5 to Redwood National Park (about 380 miles) or further to the Bay Area. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage stops at the border. Canada may be allowed depending on the host, so message before booking if a BC trip is on your radar. Pro tip: confirm mileage allowance and out-of-state travel with your host directly through the RVezy listing before you finalize.

What should I budget for fuel on a Gladstone RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable on a Gladstone RV trip, so plan for it upfront. Oregon gas prices regularly rank among the highest in the nation, often well above the national average. Most Class C motorhomes get 8 to 10 mpg, campervans get 14 to 18 mpg, and large Class A rigs run 6 to 8 mpg. For a 300-mile round trip to Mount Hood and back in a Class C, budget roughly $150 to $200 in fuel depending on current prices. Pro tip: fill up in Gladstone or Oregon City before heading into the Cascades. Stations near Government Camp and Hood River often run 30 to 50 cents higher per gallon.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds around Gladstone?

For summer weekends, book Oregon state park campsites as soon as your dates open. Oregon State Parks accepts reservations up to six months ahead of arrival through the official reservation system, and popular parks like Milo McIver, Champoeg, and Ainsworth fill quickly between Memorial Day and Labor Day. U.S. Forest Service sites around Mount Hood release on Recreation.gov, also typically six months out. Clackamette RV Park in Oregon City takes reservations directly through the city. Pro tip: if you miss the initial window, check back daily for cancellations. A good share of bookings get released as plans change.
stateparks.oregon.gov/index.cfm?do=reserve.make

What are the driving conditions like around Gladstone?

Driving conditions around Gladstone are easier than most major metros: you're just off I-205 with quick connections to I-5 and I-84, and traffic outside rush hour flows well. Avoid 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6:30 p.m. on I-205 through Portland if possible. Heading east to Mount Hood on US-26, expect a steady climb with a few tight curves past Sandy. In winter, Cascade passes can require traction tires or chains, even on RVs, so check TripCheck before crossing. The Columbia River Gorge can get strong east winds, which high-profile RVs feel near Crown Point. Pro tip: skip Portland traffic entirely by using the I-205 bypass east toward Mount Hood, a favorite local route from Gladstone.

What hookups, dump stations, and water fills will I find at Gladstone-area campgrounds?

Most campgrounds near Gladstone offer the full setup. Clackamette RV Park has electric and water at each site plus an on-site dump station. Milo McIver State Park provides full hookups at many sites, potable water fill, and a sani-station. Champoeg State Heritage Area offers electric and water plus a shared dump station near the entrance. For free or low-cost dumping between trips, the Oregon City area has RV-friendly options worth calling ahead to confirm. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the Willamette Valley if you're headed to first-come Forest Service sites in Mount Hood National Forest, where many sites have vault toilets but no potable water.

What features and amenities should I expect inside my Gladstone RV rental?

Even modest rigs on RVezy come fully equipped for a comfortable Gladstone RV trip. Expect a real bed (often a queen), a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelts for everyone traveling. Most listings include a TV, and many offer Wi-Fi hotspots, outdoor speakers, or solar setups as add-ons. Class A and large Class C motorhomes typically sleep 6 to 8 with bunks and convertible dinettes, perfect for a family RV trip Gladstone families love. Pro tip: check the listing photos for the specific layout and ask the host about included kitchen kits, bedding, and camp chairs so you can pack lighter.

What add-ons and pickup options are available when I rent an RV in Gladstone?

Mileage policies vary: some include 100 miles per night, others offer unlimited. Pro tip: read the listing's mileage and generator-hour limits before you book, then ask about bundle pricing if you want several add-ons at once.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card, never directly to the host, so your booking is protected from start to finish. A security deposit is held (not charged) on your card before the trip, with the amount set by the host based on the RV's value. If the rig comes back in the same condition, the hold is released after your trip. Damage claims go through RVezy's resolution team, not the host, which keeps things fair. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video with your host at both pickup and dropoff in Gladstone. It takes two minutes and is the easiest way to avoid any deposit confusion at the end of your trip.
