Excellent Campervan Experience We recently rented a campervan to travel to Savannah and Northern Georgia. We had a great time, thanks to the excellent orientation provided by Morgan. We truly had everything we needed, from a French Press to start our days out right to a comfy bed that accommodated two adults comfortably. It was an amazing experience, with all the comforts of home while still being able to connect with nature. Morgan was a phenomenal host and we can't recommend him highly enough!

How does mileage work for RV rentals in Pennsylvania and where can I go?

Great news: you’re in the road trip capital of the Northeast. Many Pennsylvania RV rental listings include generous mileage, and you can filter for ‘unlimited mileage’ if you plan big adventures. You can easily reach spots like Gettysburg (2.5 hours from State College), the Jersey Shore (4 hours), or even Niagara Falls (5 hours). Always check the listing for details on included miles and any overage fees. There’s a lot to explore by RV from Pennsylvania: the hardest part is narrowing it down.

Where can I park an RV overnight in Pennsylvania?

You’ll find plenty of options for RV camping in Pennsylvania. Some of the best campgrounds near central Pennsylvania are Poe Valley State Park (secluded pine forests with electrical hookups), Bald Eagle State Park (lakeside sites with showers), and Mountain Top Campground (great mountain views). In a pinch, major retailers like some Walmarts or Cabela’s locations offer overnight parking: just ask the manager before settling in. Pennsylvania’s state parks fill quickly on weekends, so book ahead for prime spots.

What’s the best time of year for an RV trip in Pennsylvania?

Spring (late April to early June) and fall (mid-September to October) are unbeatable for an RV trip in Pennsylvania: the weather is mild, wildflowers or fall foliage are out in full force, and crowds are light. Average temps range from the 50s in April to 80s in July, dropping back to the 60s in October. Summers can be humid but great for lake camping, while winter means fewer campgrounds are open: if you love cozy snowy adventures, ask about RVs with heated tanks. Book foliage season early for the best sites.

Is renting an RV in Pennsylvania a good idea for first-timers?

Absolutely: Pennsylvania’s rolling highways and many RV-friendly campgrounds make it perfect for first-timers. When you rent an RV in Pennsylvania through RVezy, your host gives a complete walk-through when you pick up (or on delivery) so you’ll know how everything works. Try a smaller Class C or campervan rental for a confidence boost. And don’t forget, you can message your host with questions before and during your trip: you’re never on your own.

What roadside assistance is included if something goes wrong on my Pennsylvania RV trip?

Every RV rental in Pennsylvania booked on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance. Whether you get a flat tire outside Harrisburg or need a jumpstart in the Allegheny National Forest, one phone call gets you help fast. This gives you peace of mind whether you’re going deep into the mountains or sticking to the turnpike. Enjoy the journey and know support is always there if the unexpected happens.

Can I take my Pennsylvania RV rental across state lines?

Yes, you can explore beyond Pennsylvania’s borders: take a classic RV road trip from Pennsylvania to New York City, Washington D.C., or the Finger Lakes. Just double-check your listing for any specific mileage policies. Heading north to Canada? Message your host in advance, as some rentals allow cross-border travel with the right protection. Traveling to Mexico, though, is not allowed. With so many iconic destinations within 5 hours, it’s easy to make your Pennsylvania RV trip a multi-state adventure.

What should I budget for fuel on my Pennsylvania RV adventure?

Planning your family RV trip in Pennsylvania? Expect most motorhomes to get 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG); travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Gas prices in 2024 typically range from $3.50 to $4.00 per gallon across the state. For a 400-mile round trip from State College to Pittsburgh, budget $120 to $160 for fuel in a Class C. Save by filling up at off-highway stations, and enjoy the rolling scenery from the Alleghenies to the Poconos.

How far ahead should I book Pennsylvania campgrounds and which reservation sites should I use?

For the best campgrounds near Pennsylvania’s top sights: like Leonard Harrison State Park (gorgeous Grand Canyon of PA views), Hickory Run State Park (waterfalls and boulder field), or Hersheypark Camping Resort: book 3 to 6 months ahead, especially for summer weekends. Use the official PA State Parks reservation system online for public campgrounds, and ReserveAmerica for many private options. Flexibility pays off for last-minute trips in spring or after Labor Day.

What should I know about Pennsylvania roads and local driving conditions for RVs?

Driving an RV in Pennsylvania is easier than you might expect. Major routes like I-80 and Route 322 are wide and well-maintained, though mountain curves in the Poconos or Laurel Highlands (like Route 6) require slower speeds and careful turns. Watch for low-clearance bridges in rural areas: always use your GPS’s ‘truck/RV mode.’ Local towns host many summer festivals, so plan for extra traffic around major events. Most highways are toll-free except the PA Turnpike.

What amenities and utilities can I expect at Pennsylvania campgrounds?

You’ll find a mix of amenities in Pennsylvania campgrounds. Most state parks offer electric hookups (30/50 amp), potable water, dump stations, and clean bathhouses. Private RV parks often add WiFi, cable TV, camp stores, and playgrounds: great for family RV trips. Dump stations and water fill are easily found even in rural areas, such as at Bald Eagle State Park. Always check your exact site details before booking.

What kind of features and amenities come in RV rentals in Pennsylvania?

Pennsylvania RV rentals come fully equipped for the road: beds for 2 to 8 people, full kitchens (stove, fridge, microwave), bathrooms with showers, and climate control for year-round trips. Use RVezy’s filters to find rentals with extras like TVs, generators, WiFi, and bike racks. Many hosts offer add-ons: linens, firewood, firepit rentals, so your trip is truly hassle-free. Every rental is different, so browse the listing photos and details for your ideal setup.

Are there popular add-ons or special features available for RV rentals in Pennsylvania?

Yes, many Pennsylvania RV rentals offer helpful add-ons to make your adventure smoother: portable generators for off-grid camping, extra camp chairs, firewood bundles, outdoor games, and even kayak or bike rentals for state parks. Hosts set mileage policies, so you can filter for unlimited mileage if you want to rack up the road trip miles. Pickup and drop-off are seamless, and delivery is available for most rental types. Get everything you need for a classic Pennsylvania camping weekend.

How does payment and the security deposit work for Pennsylvania RV rentals?

Booking your RV rental in Pennsylvania is simple: payment happens securely through the RVezy platform. A fully refundable security deposit is held for your trip and is returned quickly after the RV is checked in. To avoid any hiccups, return the RV on time, filled up, and as clean as when you got it. Your payment and deposit are both protected by RVezy until your adventure is complete.

Many hosts offer campers with heated tanks, insulation, and full hookups: perfect for a cozy weekend at places like R.B. Winter State Park.
