Nice clean little camper for 4. Nicely appointed but Bring a rug or mat for in front of camper & inside door. Longer water hose & electrical cord would be helpful. We were glad to have the generator for back up because the elec. cord was not always long enough. Know what you need and ask. Paul added a drip coffee machine & toaster for us. Bedding & towels were clean & nice. Beds were comfortable. A/C worked well

We rented this RV for a weekend getaway and had a fantastic experience. The RV was clean, well-stocked, and spacious! The owner gave us a quick instruction sheet so we felt comfortable using all the hookups and appliances. Everything worked as expected — fridge stayed cold, A/C kept us comfortable, and the beds were surprisingly cozy. Pick-up and drop-off were smooth, and the host was responsive to questions. It made our trip so much easier compared to tent camping. Highly recommend for a fun weekend adventure!”

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Lake Shore, WA

How much does an RV rental in Lake Shore, WA typically cost?

An RV rental in Lake Shore is one of the more affordable ways to explore the Pacific Northwest. Travel trailers commonly start around $75 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes typically run $150 to $275, and larger Class A coaches usually land between $225 and $400 depending on age, size, and amenities. Because hosts in the Vancouver area set their own pricing, you can filter by price, RV type, and sleeps count to match your budget. Booking mid-week trips in May or late September often unlocks the lowest RV rental Lake Shore prices, since weekend demand around Vancouver Lake and the Columbia River drops noticeably. Browse a few listings, message a host, and you can lock in a great deal quickly.

What license do I need to rent an RV in Lake Shore, WA?

A standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Lake Shore, WA. Washington State does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal-use motorhomes or travel trailers under 26,000 pounds gross weight, which covers essentially every rig on RVezy. You'll need to be 25 or older, and your ID is verified securely through the RVezy platform during checkout, so there's nothing to fax, mail, or print. Visiting from outside the United States? Bring your home-country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto association. That's it, you're cleared to roll out toward Vancouver Lake or Mount St. Helens.

Is RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included?

Yes, every RV rental in Lake Shore booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you are supported whether you are on I-5 or a forest road near Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The protection plan covers eligible damage to the RV and provides meaningful financial peace of mind. You choose your preferred coverage tier during checkout, not the host, so you control the level of protection that fits your trip. From a flat tire on Highway 14 to a tow back into Vancouver, help is one phone call away, a big reason first-time renters feel confident booking.

What if I need to cancel my Lake Shore RV trip?

Plans change, and RVezy makes that easy to handle. RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every booking, not the host, and there is a grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Refund amounts after that window depend on how far out you are from your trip start date. Because the policy is standardized across the platform, you will not see a cancellation policy listed on individual listings. If anything comes up before, during, or after your trip, RVezy support is available to walk you through your options.

Can I bring my dog on a Lake Shore RV rental?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental Lake Shore options are plentiful. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you will see motorhomes and travel trailers from hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). Vancouver is a dog-loving town with great local spots to explore together: Frenchman's Bar Regional Park has off-leash hours and a sandy beach along the Columbia River, while Burnt Bridge Creek Greenway offers miles of leashed trails minutes from Lake Shore. Most pet-friendly hosts simply ask that you keep pets off furniture and clean up before return. Message the host before booking to mention your dog's size, and they will typically confirm details quickly.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Lake Shore?

Yes, RV delivery Lake Shore is one of the most popular options on the platform, especially for first-time renters. Use the Delivery filter and you will find hosts who will drive the RV directly to your driveway, a Vancouver-area campground like Vancouver RV Park, or Battle Ground Lake State Park about 20 miles north. They will level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system, from the awning to the propane to the black tank, so you can focus on relaxing. Delivery fees are typically charged by the mile from the host's location. It is the smoothest way to start a motorhome rental Lake Shore trip without ever towing a thing.

How many miles can I drive on a Lake Shore RV rental?

You have plenty of road ahead. Hosts set their own mileage policies, and on RVezy you will find listings with generous daily allowances (often 100 to 150 miles per day) and RV rental with unlimited mileage options for longer Pacific Northwest road trips. From Lake Shore, the Mount St. Helens Visitor Center at Silver Lake is about 50 miles north, Multnomah Falls is roughly 30 miles east in the Columbia River Gorge, Mount Hood is about 75 miles southeast, Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast is around 95 miles west, and Mount Rainier National Park is about 140 miles northeast. When is the best time of year for a Lake Shore RV trip?

Late June through mid-September is the sweet spot for an RV trip from Lake Shore. Summers around Vancouver Lake are warm and dry, with daytime highs typically in the high 70s to mid 80s F and little rain, perfect for kayaking or BBQs at Frenchman's Bar. Shoulder seasons (May and late September into October) bring fewer crowds, lower nightly rates, and beautiful fall color along the Columbia Gorge. Winters are mild but wet with daytime temps in the 40s, and many hosts keep their RVs available year-round for storm-watching trips to the Oregon Coast. Book before mid-March if you want a premium summer rig, local inventory tightens quickly.

What happens if something breaks down on my trip?

You are covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether it is a flat tire on State Route 14 along the Columbia Gorge, a dead battery at Battle Ground Lake, or an engine issue on the way back from Mount St. Helens, one phone call dispatches help. For RV-system issues like a stuck slide or a finicky water pump, your host is your first call, they know their rig best and most respond within minutes. RVezy customer support is also available throughout your trip if anything escalates. Snap photos at pickup of all systems working, it makes any troubleshooting call or claim faster and easier.

Can I take my Lake Shore RV rental into Oregon or Canada?

Yes, crossing into Oregon is allowed and expected, downtown Portland is just about 10 miles south of Lake Shore over the Interstate Bridge, and the entire Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area is right next door. Most hosts also allow travel throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California. Travel into Canada (think Vancouver, BC or the Okanagan) may be allowed depending on the host, so confirm in a quick pre-booking message. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because protection coverage does not extend there. Popular routes from Lake Shore include the Oregon Coast loop, the Mount Hood scenic byway, and the Cascade Loop north toward Leavenworth.

What kind of fuel economy and gas costs should I budget for?

Budgeting fuel for your RV road trip from Lake Shore is easier than you'd think. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 12 MPG, and larger Class A coaches and fifth wheels usually run 6 to 10 MPG. Washington gas prices tend to sit higher than the national average (often around $4.20 to $4.60 per gallon in the Vancouver area), while Oregon, just across the bridge, is frequently 10 to 30 cents cheaper, so many locals fill up in Jantzen Beach or Portland before heading east. For a 500-mile loop to Mount St. Helens and the Gorge in a Class C, plan roughly $200 to $250 in fuel.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Lake Shore?

Book early to have your pick. Washington State Parks like Battle Ground Lake, Paradise Point, and Beacon Rock open reservations nine months in advance through the Washington State Parks reservation system, and prime summer weekends (especially July 4 and Labor Day) often sell out within hours of the booking window opening. For private parks like Vancouver RV Park or Columbia Riverfront RV Park in Woodland, 2 to 4 months ahead is usually fine for summer, while shoulder-season trips can often be booked just a week out. Log into the reservation site a few minutes before 7:00 a.m. Pacific on your nine-month window day to snag the lakeside loops everyone wants.

What are driving conditions like around Lake Shore and Vancouver, WA?

Driving an RV around Lake Shore is refreshingly easy. The neighborhood sits just off Northwest 78th Street and Northwest 99th Street, both flat, wide, and RV-friendly, with quick access to Interstate 5. I-5 traffic through Vancouver and over the Interstate Bridge to Portland gets heavy on weekday mornings (7 to 9 a.m.) and afternoons (3 to 6 p.m.), so plan departures around it. Heading east on State Route 14 through the Columbia River Gorge, watch for strong crosswinds, especially near Cape Horn. Mountain routes toward Mount St. Helens and Mount Hood are paved and well-graded, though steep grades mean using lower gears on descents. Pro tip: avoid the Interstate Bridge during weekday rush hour, the Glenn Jackson (I-205) is usually faster.

What amenities will I find at local campgrounds, and where can I dump and refill water?

Local campgrounds are well set up for a smooth stay. Vancouver RV Park and Columbia Riverfront RV Park offer full hookups (water, sewer, 30/50 amp electric), free Wi-Fi, hot showers, and laundry. State parks like Battle Ground Lake and Paradise Point provide water and electric sites, restrooms, hot showers, and on-site dump stations, sewer at the site is less common at state parks. For free or low-cost dump and freshwater fill between trips, the Salmon Creek Park & Ride area and Camping World in Wilsonville (across the river) are popular options. Pro tip: ask your host if their RV's fresh tank is filled at pickup, most top it off so you can roll straight to your first night without a stop.

What's typically included inside RVs available in Lake Shore?

Lake Shore-area RVs come ready to camp. Expect a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink, cookware, dishes), a bathroom with toilet and shower, comfortable sleeping for anywhere from 2 to 10 people depending on the rig, climate control (air conditioning and propane furnace), and DOT-approved seatbelts for travel. Many motorhomes also include a generator, outdoor speakers, a flat-screen TV, and roof-mounted solar. Wi-Fi varies, some hosts include a mobile hotspot, others suggest you bring your phone's hotspot, which works well across most of the Vancouver and Portland metro. Every listing on RVezy lists exact amenities, so you can sort by what matters: pet-friendly, sleeps 6+, generator, or bike rack ready.

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

You can customize your rental to match exactly how you want to camp. Common add-ons from Lake Shore-area hosts include camp chairs, outdoor grills, bedding and linen kits, kitchen kits, generators, bike racks, kayak/SUP racks, and pre-filled propane tanks. Pickup is typically at the host's home in the Lake Shore, Felida, Hazel Dell, or Salmon Creek areas, with delivery available to most Vancouver-area addresses and campgrounds for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies vary by listing, some offer unlimited miles for long Pacific Northwest loops, others a daily allowance with a small per-mile fee beyond that. Bundle delivery, setup, and a generator if you are heading off-grid toward Mount St. Helens, the convenience pays for itself.

How do payment and the security deposit work?

Payment is simple and secure. You pay through RVezy with a credit card at the time of booking, which covers the nightly rate, host fees, the RVezy service fee, and your chosen protection plan. A refundable security deposit is placed separately as a temporary hold (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV), and it is released back to your card after the host confirms the rig was returned in good condition, usually within a few days of trip end. To avoid any deposit issues, complete the pre-trip walkthrough carefully, take photos at pickup and return, refill propane and fuel as agreed, and empty the tanks at a dump station before drop-off.
