Can't say enough good things about Scott. When you rent from someone else, you want to feel confident that you're getting what you asked for and will have help/support if needed. Its not just that Scott was good when things were good, its how awesome he was whenever there was an issue or question that really sets him above all others in our book. Not only did he jump in to help us when our original host cancelled last minute, but when we had an early issue he immediately took action to help and personally came to check and make sure it was resolved properly. Amazing, caring host and we would definitely book with him again for future RV needs.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Glendale, WI

How much does an RV rental in Glendale, WI typically cost?

Great news: an RV rental in Glendale, WI is one of the more affordable ways to explore Wisconsin's lakes, forests, and Lake Michigan shoreline. On RVezy, travel trailers near Glendale typically run $90 to $175 per night, Class C motorhomes range $185 to $325 per night, and luxury Class A rigs land between $275 and $450. Booking midweek (Sunday through Thursday) and traveling in May or September often shaves 15-25% off summer peak rates around Milwaukee. Pro tip: filter for Instant Book listings to lock in same-day pricing, and consider trailers if you already have a tow vehicle — they're the cheap RV rental Glendale travelers love for weekend Door County getaways.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Glendale, WI?

You're in luck: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Glendale for almost every motorhome and trailer on RVezy. Wisconsin only requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) if your RV is longer than 45 feet, and virtually every rental on the platform falls well under that. You'll also need to be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID right inside the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Bring your home country's license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set. Most first-time renters are surprised how quickly the paperwork wraps up so they can hit I-43 north toward Lake Michigan.

What protection comes with my Glendale RV rental?

Every RV rental in Glendale booked on RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can hit the road with real peace of mind. You choose your protection level at checkout (not the host), so you can dial in coverage that fits your family RV trip in Glendale. The plan helps cover eligible damages to the vehicle during your trip and pairs with roadside support for things like flat tires, lockouts, and towing. Pro tip: combine the higher-tier plan with a quick walkthrough video at pickup, it is the smartest 2 minutes you will spend before pulling onto US-41.

What happens if I need to cancel my Glendale RV rental?

Booking an RV rental in Glendale is lower-risk than you might think. RVezy sets the cancellation policy across the platform (not individual hosts), and it includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your trip with confidence. Refund eligibility after that window depends on how far out from your trip date you cancel. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or offers travel credit so your plans stay protected. Pro tip: book early to get the best rigs for summer weekends, knowing you have a clear policy if life happens.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental Glendale trip?

Absolutely — your pup is welcome. RVezy offers plenty of pet-friendly RV rental Glendale options; just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll see rigs whose owners specifically welcome four-legged guests. Once you arrive, Wisconsin State Parks allow leashed pets (8-foot leash maximum) in most campgrounds, on trails, and in outlying areas, which opens up Harrington Beach State Park and Kohler-Andrae for dog-friendly camping. Locally, Estabrook Park along the Milwaukee River right in Glendale has an off-leash dog area that's perfect for a pre-trip romp. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet fees and ask about their favorite local dog-friendly trails.

Can the RV be delivered to me in Glendale?

Yes — RV delivery Glendale is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you're a first-time renter nervous about driving a big rig through Milwaukee traffic. Many RVezy hosts in the Glendale area will deliver and set up your travel trailer or motorhome directly at your campground, driveway, or even at popular spots like Jellystone Park in Caledonia or Wisconsin State Fair Park. The host handles leveling, hookups, and a full walkthrough so you can just unpack and relax. Delivery fees are typically based on distance from the host's location. Pro tip: filter listings by Delivery on RVezy to instantly see who serves your destination.

How far can I drive on a Glendale RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?

You've got options: many hosts include a generous daily mileage allowance (often 100-150 miles per day), and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage, which is gold for a long Wisconsin road trip. From Glendale, you can reach Wisconsin Dells in about 125 miles (under 2 hours), Door County's Sturgeon Bay in roughly 160 miles (2h 45m), Devil's Lake State Park near Baraboo in 130 miles, and Chicago in just 100 miles. Each listing on RVezy clearly shows the included mileage and the per-mile rate for overages right before you book. Pro tip: if you're planning the classic Milwaukee-to-Door County loop, filter for unlimited mileage upfront and skip the math entirely.

Where are the best campgrounds near Glendale, WI?

You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping Glendale and the surrounding region. A few favorites: Jellystone Park in Caledonia (about 30 minutes south) offers full hookups, a waterpark, and family activities; Harrington Beach State Park in Belgium (40 minutes north) has wooded sites steps from a Lake Michigan beach; Kohler-Andrae State Park near Sheboygan (about an hour north) features dune-side sites and electric hookups; and Big Foot Beach State Park on Lake Geneva (75 minutes southwest) is a classic Wisconsin getaway. Pro tip: state park sites book through the Wisconsin DNR's Going to Camp system up to 11 months in advance, so set a reservation alarm for popular summer weekends.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Glendale, WI?

The sweet spot for a Glendale RV trip is late May through mid-October, with average highs of 70-82°F from June through August and crisp, colorful 55-70°F days in September and early October. July is peak season for Lake Michigan beach time and Summerfest in Milwaukee, while fall delivers stunning foliage along the Kettle Moraine and far fewer crowds. Winters are genuinely cold here (highs in the 20s-30s°F, regular snow), but year-round RVing is possible if you book a four-season rig and stick to Wisconsin State Parks that now offer winter reservations. Pro tip: late September weekends combine warm days, cool nights, and the best campground availability of the year.

I've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay?

You've got this — first time renting an RV in Glendale is easier than most people expect. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on walkthrough at pickup, covering driving tips, leveling, hookups, holding tanks, and the generator, so you're never left to figure it out alone. Many guests start with a Class C motorhome or smaller travel trailer for easier handling, especially around Milwaukee's tighter streets and the curves on I-43 along the lakefront. You can also message the host with questions before booking. Pro tip: do a short practice loop in a quiet area like the parking lot near Bayshore Town Center before heading out to the highway — 15 minutes builds huge confidence.

What if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

Breathe easy: every RV rental in Glendale booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering things like flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, and towing. If you have an issue near Glendale, help can typically reach you along I-43, I-94, or US-45, and the Milwaukee metro has plenty of certified RV service centers if a repair is needed. You can also message the host directly through the RVezy app and tap into RVezy customer support before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the RV's VIN, plate, and tire pressure at pickup so any roadside call goes faster.

Can I take my Glendale RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Absolutely — an RV road trip from Glendale opens up the whole Upper Midwest. Most RVezy hosts allow travel throughout the U.S., so popular routes include Chicago (100 miles south), the Upper Peninsula of Michigan via US-41, Minneapolis–St. Paul (335 miles west), and even Mackinac Bridge country. Some hosts also allow travel into Canada (think Sault Ste. Marie or Thunder Bay), but you'll want to confirm directly with the host before booking since insurance coverage rules apply. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Pro tip: message the host with your route before booking so they can confirm everything and share local tips for your specific trip.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Wisconsin RV trip?

Fuel is the biggest variable in any RV budget, but Wisconsin's relatively flat terrain and moderate gas prices make it kinder than many states. Expect 7-10 MPG for a Class A, 10-14 MPG for a Class C, 12-18 MPG for a Class B campervan, and a tow vehicle pulling a travel trailer landing around 9-12 MPG. Gas prices in the Milwaukee metro area typically run a few cents below the national average. A round trip from Glendale to Wisconsin Dells (about 250 miles total) runs roughly $80-$110 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: Costco off Port Washington Road in Glendale and the Kwik Trip stations along WI-100 reliably offer the area's cheapest fill-ups.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Glendale?

For summer weekends (Memorial Day through Labor Day) at popular Wisconsin State Parks like Harrington Beach, Kohler-Andrae, and Devil's Lake, book as soon as the 11-month reservation window opens through the Wisconsin DNR reservation system, sites for July and August can vanish within hours. Private parks like Jellystone in Caledonia generally open 12 months out and also fill fast for holiday weekends. For shoulder-season trips in May, September, or October, 2 to 4 weeks of lead time is usually plenty. Pro tip: set up an availability alert in the DNR system to grab cancellations at sold-out parks, Wisconsinites cancel often when weather shifts.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/camping/reservations

What are the local driving conditions like around Glendale?

Driving around Glendale is straightforward — you're on a flat to gently rolling landscape with well-maintained interstates (I-43, I-94, and the I-894 bypass) right at the edge of town. The Marquette Interchange in downtown Milwaukee can get busy at rush hour, so plan departures before 7 AM or after 9 AM. Winter brings snow and ice from December through March, so most rentals stick to May-October. Watch for low clearance under the 35th Street viaduct in Milwaukee (about 11'8) and stick to truck-friendly routes if you're in a tall Class A. Pro tip: take I-43 north out of Glendale to instantly bypass downtown traffic and head straight toward Door County or the lakeshore.

What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Glendale?

You'll find a wide range — and that's part of the fun of RV camping Glendale style. Wisconsin State Parks like Harrington Beach and Kohler-Andrae offer electric hookups (typically 20/30 amp), potable water spigots, and central dump stations, though full hookups at state parks are rare. Private parks like Jellystone in Caledonia and Wisconsin State Fair RV Park in West Allis offer full 30/50-amp hookups, Wi-Fi, showers, and laundry. For fresh water and dump stations on the road, most KOAs and Pilot/Flying J locations along I-94 cater to RVers. Pro tip: top off fresh water before leaving the host's place — Wisconsin tap water from the Great Lakes basin is excellent.
dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/camping/rules

What's included inside a typical RV rental in Glendale?

Most RVs on RVezy come trip-ready. Expect a real bed (queen in most Class Cs, sometimes king in Class A), a full kitchen with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, and sink, a private bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with both furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelted seating for everyone in your party. Many listings also include a TV, generator, outdoor awning, and increasingly Wi-Fi hotspots — handy when you're parked deep in the Northwoods. Campervan rental Glendale options (Class B) are more compact but still pack kitchenettes and beds. Pro tip: check the listing's amenities list and message the host if you need something specific like a baby's pack-n-play, kayak rack, or extra propane.
travelwisconsin.com/article/rv-camping

What add-ons can I get with my Glendale RV rental?

Lots of fun stuff. Common RVezy add-ons in the Glendale area include camping chairs and tables ($5-15/day), bedding and linen packages ($30-75 per trip), kitchen kits with pots, pans, and dishes ($25-60), bikes and kayaks (great for the Milwaukee River and Lake Michigan), generators, and pet packages. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Glendale, Whitefish Bay, Mequon, or nearby suburbs, with delivery available from many hosts. Each listing clearly lists mileage allowances (typical: 100-150 miles/day) and per-mile fees for overages. Pro tip: bundle bedding, kitchen, and outdoor gear add-ons when booking your first trip — you'll save the headache of packing half a household into your car.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental in Wisconsin through RVezy, you pay the rental total by credit card right in the platform, no cash exchanged with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the rig), and as long as you return the RV in the same condition you received it, the hold is released after your trip. Any extras like mileage overages, generator hours, or cleaning fees are clearly listed in the booking summary before you confirm. Pro tip: take a short video walkaround at both pickup and drop-off in Glendale to document the RV's condition, it is the easiest way to avoid any deposit disputes.

How do I handle Milwaukee city driving and where shouldn't I take an RV?

Glendale's location makes city driving easier than people fear — you're already north of downtown Milwaukee, so you can hop on I-43 north and be in open country within 10 minutes. That said, avoid taking a big Class A into downtown Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward and Brady Street neighborhoods (tight, low clearances) and skip Lake Drive's overpasses if you're over 11 feet. The Hoan Bridge and I-794 handle RVs just fine. If downtown city driving feels intimidating, RV delivery Glendale hosts will bring the RV straight to your campground. Pro tip: you're only 90 minutes from the quiet Kettle Moraine State Forest — Glendale is the perfect launchpad for a fast escape into nature.
