Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable windows for RV travel to the Arrowhead area, typically April through early June and again from mid-September through October, when daytime temperatures are warm but humidity and storm activity ease. Midsummer brings reliable swimming and boating weather, but heat indices can climb well past 100°F and afternoon thunderstorms are common. Winter is mild compared to the northern Plains yet can include cold snaps and occasional ice, so shoulder-season travelers should monitor forecasts. Weekends around major summer holidays see the heaviest boat traffic on Lake Eufaula.

Lake Eufaula is the largest lake in Oklahoma and the core attraction at the Arrowhead site. Anglers target largemouth bass, crappie, catfish, and sand bass across its many coves and points.
Day-use areas along the peninsula offer water access for swimming and shoreline picnics. The open oak-shaded lawns are easy to reach with a towed vehicle from an RV base.
The cross-timbers shoreline of Lake Eufaula draws bald eagles in winter along with herons, egrets, and white-tailed deer year-round. Quiet mornings and evenings are best for sightings from park roads and shoreline pullouts.
Robbers Cave State Park lies in the Sans Bois Mountains roughly an hour southeast of Arrowhead and offers hiking, rock formations, and a historic outlaw hideout. It pairs well with an Arrowhead lake base for RV travelers wanting varied terrain. travelok.com/state-parks/robbers-cave-state-park
The town of Eufaula sits across the lake and offers restaurants, shops, and views of the Eufaula Dam on the Canadian River. It's an easy drive from the Arrowhead area for supplies, fuel, and a change of pace.
The historic Choctaw Nation Capitol building and museum in Tuskahoma is about an hour from the park. It offers a close look at Choctaw history and makes a worthwhile cultural side trip from a Lake Eufaula RV base.
The camper was set up super convenient and it was the perfect price/perfect size for what I was doing. Owners were extremely nice and helpful. Will rent from them in the future (if able).

Robby was very helpful and communicated well when needed. This was my 1st experience. He made it very easy and stress free. Even took the time to make sure the a/c was kicking due to Oklahomas good ol heat and humidity. Great way to kick off our family reunion hosted by the 70th annual OKMULGEE Roy LeBlanc invitatal Rodeo! Sorry no pictures. Only a couple of videos. We lived in the moment!

Arrowhead State Park, OK, United States
The park lies off US-69 near Canadian, Oklahoma, roughly a 2 to 2.5 hour drive southeast of Oklahoma City and about 2 hours south of Tulsa via the Indian Nation Turnpike and US-69. Fort Smith, Arkansas is about 90 minutes to the east. RV drivers should note that US-69 is a heavily used truck corridor with construction zones and stoplight towns, and the Indian Nation Turnpike is a toll road, so plan for tolls or a cash lane suitable for larger rigs. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Tulsa International Airport (TUL), with Will Rogers World Airport (OKC) a comparable option to the west.
