Late May through early September is the peak window, when the swim beach is staffed, the lake is warm for boating, and all day-use areas are fully open. June and September offer the best mix of pleasant weather and lighter crowds, while October brings strong fall foliage along the lake and trails. Winter visits are quieter and suit ice fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing when conditions allow, but snow and ice can make park roads slick for larger rigs.
Swim beach closed. Roads open for ice fishing and winter trail use when conditions allow.

Wild Creek Falls Trail is a short out-and-back hike of about 2 miles round trip leading to a multi-tiered waterfall in the northeast corner of the park. The route follows Wild Creek through hemlock and hardwood forest. Trailhead parking off Pohopoco Drive can accommodate mid-size vehicles.
The 525-foot sand swim beach is one of the largest in the Pennsylvania state park system. Swimming is permitted in designated areas during the summer season, with picnic tables, restrooms, and a concession nearby. The main beach parking area has pull-through spaces that fit RVs on weekdays but fills early on summer weekends.
The 949-acre lake has an unlimited horsepower limit and is popular for motorboating, sailing, kayaking, and water skiing. Pine Run, Preachers Camp, and Pohopoco boat launches provide ramps and trailer parking. Pine Run is the largest launch and best suited for vehicles towing boats.
Beltzville Lake is managed by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and is known for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, walleye, muskellunge, and panfish. Shoreline access is available from multiple day-use areas, and ice fishing is popular in winter when the lake freezes safely.
Christman Trail is a roughly 3.5-mile loop on the north shore of the lake, traversing forest, old fields, and a covered bridge crossing. It is used for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing in winter. Parking is available at the Preachers Camp boat launch.
Pohopoco Trail follows the lake's south shore for about 3 miles one way, linking several day-use areas and offering lake views year-round. The mostly level path suits casual hikers and trail runners. Access is easiest from the main beach parking area.
Beltzville has more than 500 picnic tables and multiple reservable pavilions spread across shaded day-use areas. Pavilions can be reserved in advance through the Pennsylvania DCNR system, and most sit near parking lots large enough for RVs. Grills and restrooms are available at the main picnic areas.
Great weekend getaway!

Great vehicle and friendly owners. This compact camper has a lot of creature comforts while allowing one to maneuver and park in regular parking lots. The van is really easy to drive and handles really nice. The beds were comfortable and IMO accommodate 2 adults (top bed) and 1 adult or 2 kids in the lower bed. We were able to use the bike rack, too, and that worked great for a road bike and mountain bike (I think 2 mountain bikes might not fit unless the handle bars were turned on 1 of them). We didn't use the, generator, heater, hot water, shower, sink, microwave or toilet so I can't comment on them but I wish we rented it longer so we could've taken advantage of all this van has to offer. We would absolutely rent again.
