Caliper Lake Provincial Park, ON, Canada
Caliper Lake Provincial Park is located near Nestor Falls, Ontario, accessed via Highway 71 south of town. Fort Frances is the nearest major service center, approximately 95 km (59 miles) south with a 70-minute drive. Thunder Bay International Airport, 440 km (275 miles) away with a 6.5-hour drive, is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent options. Highway 71 is a standard provincial highway with no major tunnels or extreme grades, though winter driving conditions require caution from November through March.
Late June through August offers the warmest weather, with daytime temperatures reaching 23-26°C (73-79°F), ideal for swimming and fishing. May and September are shoulder seasons with pleasant temperatures of 15-19°C (59-66°F) and fewer crowds. Winter closure begins in mid-October as roads become snow-covered and campgrounds close for the season.
