Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park, CA, United States
Mill Creek Campground is located 7 miles south of Crescent City on US Highway 101. The nearest commercial airport is approximately 70 miles south in Eureka, California, or 108 miles north in Medford, Oregon. Highway 101 through this region is well-maintained for RVs, though expect narrow roads with coastal fog and curves along ocean bluffs. Check current road conditions before traveling, as heavy winter rains can occasionally impact coastal access routes.
The best time to visit is mid-June through early September, when conditions are driest and clearest with temperatures in the 60s to low 70s Fahrenheit. Summer months offer the most reliable weather for RV camping and hiking. Late spring (May to early June) provides milder temperatures around 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit with fewer crowds. October through April is rainy and wet, with over 100 inches of annual rainfall concentrated in these months, and the campground is closed for RV camping during this period.
