Best time to visit Ellacoya State Park

Late June through August offers the warmest lake temperatures, full beach operations, and reliably open campground facilities. Early September is a strong shoulder-season choice for RV travelers, with cooler nights, thinner crowds, and the start of fall foliage in the surrounding Belknap range. May and early June are quieter but can be cool and buggy, and the RV park is typically closed outside the warm-season window. Peak summer weekends and holidays book out far in advance, so midweek stays are easier for RVers without reservations.
