Garner Lake Provincial Park, AB, Canada
Garner Lake Provincial Park is located 169 kilometers northeast of Edmonton via Highway 28, approximately 2 hours and 10 minutes by vehicle. From Edmonton, drive northeast on Highway 28 to Smoky Lake, then continue 50 kilometers east and 5 kilometers north to the park entrance at Spedden. The access road is paved and suitable for standard RVs. Edmonton International Airport, approximately 154 kilometers away, is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent options.
May through August offer the best conditions for RV camping, with June through August providing warm weather and long daylight hours. July and early August are peak season with daytime highs around 23 degrees Celsius and the most stable weather. May and September provide cooler shoulder-season options with lighter crowds. The campground closes October through mid-May; however, day-use and winter recreation like cross-country skiing are available year-round.
