Late spring through early fall, roughly May to September, offers the mildest weather, longest days, and driest conditions for beach activities. July and August are the busiest months and reservations fill quickly, so shoulder months like May, June, and September are ideal for RV travelers wanting fewer crowds. Fall and winter are popular for storm watching and razor clam digs, though visitors should expect wind, rain, and short daylight. The park remains open year-round, so RVers with self-contained rigs can visit in any season.

The park fronts roughly 7,449 feet of wide, open Pacific beach accessible directly from the campground via short dune trails. Visitors can walk for miles collecting shells, agates, and driftwood, especially after winter storms.
Grayland Beach is one of Washington's most productive razor clam beaches during state-approved digs. RVers should check Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife open dates and purchase a shellfish license before heading out.
From late fall through early spring, Pacific storms bring dramatic surf and wind to the exposed coastline. The park's proximity to the beach makes it a favorite base for watching winter weather from a warm RV.
Consistent onshore winds and a flat, hard-packed beach make Grayland a popular spot for kite flying, sand sailing, and beach games. The wide beach provides plenty of room for groups to spread out.
Paved campground loops and the shoulder of SR-105 give riders easy access to nearby Grayland and Westport. The terrain is flat, making it suitable for casual family rides.
About 10 miles north, the fishing town of Westport offers a working harbor, seafood restaurants, charter fishing, and the Grays Harbor Lighthouse. Westhaven State Park adds a paved promenade and jetty views within an easy RV drive.
The dunes, shore pine forest, and nearby Willapa Bay support shorebirds, raptors, and seasonal migrations. Binoculars are recommended, particularly during spring and fall migration.

Grayland Beach State Park, WA, United States
Grayland Beach State Park sits just off State Route 105 on the southern Washington coast, about 22 miles south of Aberdeen and roughly 2.5 hours (140 miles) southwest of Seattle via US-101 and SR-8/SR-12. From Portland, Oregon, the drive is about 3 to 3.5 hours (160 miles) via I-5 and SR-107. SR-105 is a two-lane coastal highway with some narrow stretches and seasonal flooding near Willapa Bay, but it has no tunnels, major passes, or low-clearance structures that restrict standard RVs. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).
