Late June through early September offers the warmest weather, the longest daylight, and the clearest long-range views from the lookoff. July and August bring peak summer crowds, while September is a quieter shoulder month with cool, crisp air and early fall colour across the surrounding hills. The park is typically closed or unmaintained from late autumn through spring due to snow and ice on the access road.

How to get to Greenhill Provincial Park

Greenhill Provincial Park is roughly a 15 to 20 minute drive from New Glasgow and Pictou via Highway 104 and local roads through Hopewell. From Halifax, plan on about 1 hour 45 minutes (around 160 km) via Highway 102 and Highway 104. The final approach climbs a steep, narrow rural road to the summit, so large RVs and trailers should drive slowly, watch for tight turns, and be prepared to back out if the small gravel lot is full. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ).
