Hendy Woods State Park, CA, United States
Hendy Woods is located 0.5 miles from Philo and 8 miles from Boonville in Mendocino County. San Francisco International Airport is approximately 130 miles away with a drive time of roughly 2 hours 40 minutes for fly-and-rent visitors. Highway 128 features tight curves not ideal for larger RVs. A one-lane bridge over the Navarro River requires careful navigation for RVs over 25 feet, and the park's maximum is 35 feet.
Summer months (June through August) offer the warmest weather for swimming and hiking, with average highs around 85 degrees Fahrenheit. However, expect crowds from May through September, especially on weekends. September and October provide pleasant shoulder-season conditions with comfortable temperatures and fewer visitors. Winter months bring substantial rainfall and cooler temperatures, ideal for those seeking solitude.
