Late May through early October is the prime window for RV travel, with warm days, full campground services, and open swim beach. July and August bring the warmest lake temperatures and the busiest weekends, so reservations are strongly recommended. May, September, and early October are quieter shoulder seasons with cooler nights and good fall color in the oak woods. Winter visits are possible for day use, but the campground operates with limited services in the cold months.

Aaron is a really nice guy and has great communications. He showed up exactly when he was supposed to. Delivered it, set it up for me, walked me through how everything works. Camper was great air conditioning refrigerator toilet everything worked. Bed was comfortable,. Then he showed up to pick it up exactly on time I left and he dismantled it and took it away. I did not have to do anything but enjoy it.

Lake Kegonsa State Park, WI, United States
The park entrance is off Williams Drive near Stoughton, about 20 miles southeast of downtown Madison and roughly a 25 to 30 minute drive via US 51 and County Highway B. From Milwaukee it is about 90 miles, or roughly 90 minutes west on Interstate 94 and US 12/18. Roads in the area are flat to gently rolling with no tunnels or significant grades, but the final approach uses narrow rural roads, so RV drivers should watch for tight turns near the campground entrance. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) in Madison, about 30 minutes away.
