Late spring through early fall is the most popular window, with May, June, and September offering warm lake temperatures without the peak summer heat. July and August are the busiest months for boating and swimming, but afternoon highs often push into the mid 90s Fahrenheit, so RVers should plan for shaded sites and reliable electric hookups for air conditioning. Fall brings cooler nights, fewer crowds, and strong striper fishing, making it a good shoulder-season choice. Winter is mild but windy, with occasional freezes that can affect water hookups at some lakeside campgrounds.

Lake Texoma is one of the few inland lakes in the U.S. with a naturally reproducing striped bass population. Anglers can launch from nearby marinas or fish from shore, and local guides run trips out of the Oklahoma side year round.
The reservoir spans roughly 89,000 acres with long open reaches ideal for powerboating, sailing, and personal watercraft. Public ramps on the Oklahoma shore provide RV-friendly trailer parking and lake access.
Several sandy swim areas ring the Oklahoma shoreline near the former state park footprint. Most beaches offer nearby parking and picnic tables, making them an easy stop on an RV day trip.
This championship 18-hole course overlooks Lake Texoma and is open to public play. The clubhouse parking area accommodates tow vehicles, making it an easy round for RV travelers staying nearby.

Lake Texoma State Park, OK, United States
The park area sits just off US 70 near Kingston, Oklahoma, roughly a 15 minute drive east of Madill and about 20 minutes west of Durant. From Oklahoma City, it is about a 2.5 hour drive south via I-35 and US 70, and from the Dallas-Fort Worth metro it is roughly a 1.5 to 2 hour drive north on US 75 and US 70. The approach roads are rolling rather than mountainous, with no major tunnels or steep grades, but lakeside access roads can be narrow with tight turns near marinas, so large rigs should use satellite view to scout the final approach. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW), about 110 miles to the south.
