Late June through August is the most reliable window, with warm days suitable for swimming and all campground services in full operation. September into early October brings cool nights, fewer bugs, and Catskills foliage, making it a favorite shoulder season for RV travel. May and early June can be muddy with black flies and chilly nights. The campground operates seasonally and is closed through the winter months.

The campground's namesake pond has a sandy swim beach and a hand-launch area for canoes, kayaks, and small non-motorized boats. Rental boats are typically available on-site in peak season. Gas motors are not permitted.
The Touch Me Not Trail climbs from the campground into the Beaverkill Ridge Wild Forest with connector paths that form multi-mile loops over Cabot Mountain and Touch Me Not Mountain. Expect steady climbs, some rocky footing, and partial viewpoints through the hardwood canopy.
The pond is stocked with rainbow and brown trout by NYS DEC, with fishing permitted from shore or small boat with a valid New York freshwater license. Nearby Beaverkill and Willowemoc Creeks are legendary fly fishing waters a short drive away.
Pepacton Reservoir, the largest in the NYC water supply system, lies just north of the campground along Route 30. The drive offers broad water and mountain views and pullouts for shoreline fishing with a valid NYC DEP access permit.
Multi-use trails in the surrounding Catskill Wild Forest units welcome mountain bikes on designated routes, with rolling terrain through mixed hardwood forest. Trailhead parking along nearby forest roads accommodates smaller tow vehicles; park large rigs at the campground day-use area.
The historic farming village of Andes is about 15 minutes by road and offers cafes, a general store, and small galleries along Main Street. It makes a convenient supply run for groceries, ice, and firewood sourced locally to prevent invasive pest spread.
Rural Delaware County has low light pollution, and the pond clearing provides open sky views on clear nights. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table; firewood must be sourced within 50 miles under New York's firewood rule.
Everything went smoothly and camper was just as advertised!

Little Pond Campground, NY, United States
The campground is off Barkaboom Road near Andes in Delaware County, roughly 45 minutes from Kingston, about 2.5 to 3 hours from New York City, and around 3 hours from Albany. Access roads are narrow, winding rural routes with steep grades and some tight turns, so larger Class A motorhomes and long travel trailers should plan routes carefully and avoid seasonal dirt roads. Cell coverage on the final approach is limited, so download offline maps before the drive. The nearest commercial airports for fly and rent trips are Albany International (ALB) and Stewart International (SWF) near Newburgh.
