Late June through late August offers the warmest water for swimming in Fourth Lake and the most reliable dry weather for RV travel in the Adirondack foothills. Early September is a strong shoulder season with thinner crowds, cooler nights, and the start of fall color in the surrounding hills. Late May and mid-September can be pleasant for RVers who prefer cooler temperatures, but overnight lows can dip near freezing and some facilities may operate on limited service.

The day use area features a sandy swimming beach on Fourth Lake with a designated swim area, picnic tables, and restrooms. The small, quiet lake warms up quickly in summer and is well suited to families.
Fourth Lake is a small, non-motorized lake ideal for canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards launched from the car-top boat launch at the day use area. Calm water and a forested shoreline make it good for beginners.
Anglers can fish from shore or a small craft for warmwater species typical of southern Adirondack lakes. A valid New York State fishing license is required.
Rockwell Falls is a scenic narrow gorge where the Hudson River drops through a rocky chute in the village of Lake Luzerne, a short drive from the campground. A pedestrian bridge offers views of the falls.
Moreau Lake State Park lies about 20 miles south and offers hiking trails, a beach, and a larger lake with more extensive facilities. It is an easy detour for RV travelers exploring the region. parks.ny.gov/parks/moreaulake

Lake Luzerne is a well-known base for summer tubing trips and upper Hudson River rafting with local outfitters. Outings are seasonal and depend on river flows.

Brandon was an exceptional host. Everything was ready to go and he explained the rental thoroughly as it was my first time renting. Very professional and a pleasure to work with. If you're looking to rent a camper, Brandon is the one to see.

**5 Stars – The Little Ditty Was a Dream!** We had such an amazing experience renting *The Little Ditty*! The RV itself was adorable – clean, cozy, and stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable getaway. Whether we were camping by the coast or tucked into the trees, it felt like a perfect little home on wheels. But what truly made this rental stand out were Ryanna & Derek. They were absolutely fantastic from start to finish – incredibly helpful, friendly, and excellent communicators. They walked us through everything clearly, answered all our questions with patience, and made sure we felt completely confident and taken care of. Their kindness and attention to detail really made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We can’t recommend *The Little Ditty* – and Ryanna & Derek – highly enough. If you’re looking for a unique RV adventure with awesome hosts, this is the one!

Luzerne Campground and Day Use Area, NY, United States
The campground lies off Route 9N near the hamlet of Lake Luzerne, about 15 miles northwest of Glens Falls and roughly 60 miles north of Albany via I-87 (the Adirondack Northway) and Exit 21. Saratoga Springs is about 25 miles to the south, and Lake George village is about 20 miles east. RVers should note narrow, winding sections on Route 9N and secondary roads, with occasional steep grades and tight bridges typical of Adirondack routes, so check height and weight limits before deviating from main highways. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Albany International Airport (ALB), approximately a 1-hour drive south.
