July and August deliver the warmest weather, warm lake swimming, and full campground operation, making them the peak months for RV travel. Shoulder months of May, June, and September bring cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and some of the best trout fishing on Mohun Lake. The park is open year-round, but winter campers must be fully self-sufficient as services are minimal. Spring and fall travellers should watch for wet weather and logging traffic on the access roads.

A short hiking trail starts from the campground across from sites 7 and 8 and leads to tranquil Andrew Lake in about 30 minutes. The route stays in shaded second-growth forest and is suitable for most walkers. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/morton_lk/

Marcina was wonderful to connect with and her dedication to ensure we had a great rental experience was very appreciated. The trailer is a great layout for our family of 3 plus our dog and we will be booking again for next year.

Roch was an excellent host! The RV was exactly as described and Roch was readily available and happy to communicate with us when we had questions. He provided us with a helpful set of videos to fully explain how everything works in the RV. It was beautifully set up for us on our arrival, everything ready to go. The interior was clean and spacious and completely met our needs. No complaints whatsoever!

Morton Lake Provincial Park, BC, Canada
From Campbell River, the park is about 27 km northwest via Highway 19 and a series of secondary forest roads through the Sayward Forest. From Nanaimo the drive is roughly 180 km or about 2.5 hours north, and from Victoria it is around 270 km or 3.5 hours. RV drivers should be prepared for narrow, winding gravel access roads with active logging truck traffic, limited shoulders, and no fuel or services near the park, so fill up and dump tanks in Campbell River. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent trips is Campbell River Airport (YBL).
