Spring, from March through May, and fall, from mid September through early November, are the most comfortable times for RV travel, with mild temperatures, lower humidity, and active wildlife. Summer brings warm lake swimming weather but also heat, humidity, thunderstorms, and peak crowds on weekends. Winter is mild compared with much of the country and can be a quiet shoulder season, though occasional cold fronts and rainy stretches are possible. Reserve RV sites well ahead for holiday weekends and major fishing tournaments.

Lake Tangipahoa is a roughly 500 acre reservoir stocked with largemouth bass, bream, crappie, and catfish, making it the park's top angling destination. Boat ramps and fishing piers are accessible to RVers with easy parking near the shoreline.
The park's sandy swimming beach on Lake Tangipahoa offers a safe, roped swim area and shaded picnic tables. Day use parking accommodates RVs towing for a quick lakeside break.
Quail Hollow is an 18 hole public golf course located within the park, set among pines and rolling terrain. The clubhouse lot provides space for tow vehicles while staying in the campground.
Several easy to moderate walking trails loop through pine and hardwood forest near the lake and campground loops. Trails connect many of the park's picnic areas and cabins.
Motorboats, kayaks, and canoes are permitted on Lake Tangipahoa, with a horsepower limit that keeps the lake calm for paddlers. Boat launches have paved approaches suitable for trailers pulled by RV tow vehicles.
The park features a wooded disc golf course laid out across gently rolling terrain. Parking near the course makes it convenient for campers staying in the RV loops.
The pine woodlands and lake edges attract deer, wild turkey, herons, and migrating songbirds. Quiet early mornings near the campground and lakefront are the best times for wildlife viewing.
Danny was a great host. Delivery and set up on time. Very friendly, and communicated in a timely manner. I will definitely rent from him in the future.
