July and August are the best months to visit, when Northumberland Strait water temperatures are at their warmest and all seasonal roads, beaches, and facilities across PEI are fully open. June and early September are appealing shoulder-season options for RV travelers who want milder temperatures, smaller crowds, and easier access to nearby private campgrounds. Late September through mid-October brings cool, crisp days and fall colours, though services across rural PEI wind down quickly after Labour Day. Winter travel is not recommended, as most provincial park facilities close and coastal weather can be harsh.

The park's beach on the Northumberland Strait is ideal for casual walks and tidepool exploration. Gentle surf and warm summer water make it family friendly. Parking is available adjacent to the shoreline.
Swim in the warm Northumberland Strait, which has some of the mildest ocean temperatures north of the Carolinas during summer. The bottom is gently sloped and sandy. Swimming is unsupervised, so caution is advised.
Grassy picnic grounds with tables overlook the strait, providing a convenient lunch stop for RVers touring the coast. Shade trees border portions of the site. Pack in and pack out any waste.
Union Corner is a stop on PEI's North Cape Coastal Drive, a signed scenic route circling the island's western tip. The drive passes Acadian villages, fishing wharves, and lighthouses. RVs can follow the full loop on two-lane paved roads.
The nearby Acadian region preserves the heritage of PEI's French-speaking settlers with interpretive sites and restaurants. Mont-Carmel is a short drive west along Route 11. Cultural festivals take place in summer.
The coastal habitat attracts shorebirds, gulls, and seasonal migrants. Early morning is the best time for sightings. Bring binoculars and stick to the beach and grassy areas to avoid disturbing wildlife.
Summerside, PEI's second-largest city, is about 25 km east and offers full services, a waterfront boardwalk, and cultural attractions. It is a convenient base for fuel, groceries, and RV supplies. Large parking areas accommodate RVs near the harbour.

Union Corner Provincial Park, PE, Canada
Union Corner Provincial Park sits along Route 11 on PEI's western shore, roughly 20 minutes (about 25 km) west of Summerside and about 90 minutes (approximately 130 km) from Charlottetown. RV travelers from the mainland typically cross via Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick, which has an 18-metre (59-ft) height clearance and specific rules for high-profile vehicles in strong crosswinds, so check bridge advisories before crossing. The route along Route 11 is rural two-lane pavement with no tunnels or significant mountain grades, making it straightforward for large rigs, though shoulders are narrow in places. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Charlottetown Airport (YYG), about 100 km to the east.
