Best time to visit William Lake Provincial Park

Mid June through late August is the prime window, when campground services are open, the lake is warm enough for swimming, and Manitoba's long daylight hours make evening campfires a highlight. Early September is an excellent shoulder season for RV travellers who want cooler nights, fewer mosquitoes, and aspen colour across the Turtle Mountains. Spring visits in May can be wet and buggy, and most services are closed outside the summer operating season.

How to get to William Lake Provincial Park

The park is reached via Provincial Road 444 off Highway 10, roughly 20 km south of Boissevain and about a 90 minute drive from Brandon, the nearest service city. From Winnipeg the drive is approximately 270 km and takes about three hours, mostly on Highways 2, 10, and 444. Access roads are paved to the park turnoff with a short gravel stretch at the end, so large RVs should drive slowly and watch for soft shoulders in wet weather.
