Campgrounds and RV parks near Alonsa, MB

Alonsa sits in Manitoba's Interlake region on the west side of Lake Manitoba, roughly a two-and-a-half to three-hour drive north of Winnipeg. The area is flat prairie and boreal transition, with the lake shaping most camping destinations. Access runs primarily off PTH 6 and connecting provincial roads, and highways in the region are paved and suited to larger RVs and travel trailers. RV renters have a mix of provincial and privately operated options within a reasonable drive. Watchorn Provincial Park and Lundar Beach Provincial Park sit on the lake and offer electrical and basic sites through the Manitoba Parks reservation service. Steep Rock Beach Park is a private lakeshore campground known for limestone cliffs on the northeast shore. Sportsman's Corner Campground and Ofty's Riverside Campground round out nearby private options for shorter stays or overflow when provincial sites are full. Most campgrounds in the region are seasonal, opening in mid-May and closing between the September long weekend and mid-October depending on the operator.

Provincial park sites at Watchorn and Lundar Beach are booked through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service. The province uses a staggered launch each spring, with campground openings rolled out in phases over about five days in mid-April, and cabins, yurts, and group-use areas opening first, followed by campsites in stages by park region. Interlake campgrounds, including Watchorn and Lundar Beach, are grouped with the remaining locations opened on the final day of the rollout at 7 a.m. Reservations run through the call centre or online at the Manitoba Parks reservation site. A cancellation fee applies to bookings cancelled four or more days before arrival, and cancellations within three days of arrival are charged one night's camping fee. Private campgrounds such as Steep Rock Beach Park, Sportsman's Corner Campground, and Ofty's Riverside Campground are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their websites.
