Campgrounds and RV parks near Grey, MB

The Rural Municipality of Grey sits in south-central Manitoba, roughly 70 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg, in flat agricultural country reached via PTH 2, PTH 13, PR 240 and PR 248. The municipal office is in Elm Creek, and the RM includes Fannystelle, Haywood and St. Claude. Its central location puts RV travellers within easy driving distance of both provincial-park camping and full-service private RV resorts. Stephenfield Provincial Park is the closest provincial campground, located west of Carman on PR 245 beside the Boyne River, with a beach, boat launch and a mix of serviced and basic bays. To the north on the Trans-Canada Highway, Miller's Camping Resort sits about 10 kilometres east of Portage la Prairie and functions as a stopover for cross-country RVers. South of Grey, the Pembina Valley twin cities of Morden and Winkler add two municipal options: Colert Beach at the Lake Minnewasta Recreation Area, and Winkler Tourist Park in town. Together these sites cover everything from lakefront tent pads to full pull-through hookups for large motorhomes.

Provincial and municipal parks each use their own reservation system. Stephenfield Provincial Park is booked through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service at manitobaparks.com or 1-888-482-2267 (204-948-3333 in Winnipeg). A Park Vehicle Permit is required and must be displayed year round. Changes to facility type or campground location are not allowed; the original reservation must be cancelled and a new one made, and cancellation fees apply. Colert Beach takes reservations online through the City of Morden's campground booking portal or by phone at 204-822-4991. Winkler Tourist Park and Miller's Camping Resort accept direct bookings by phone or through their websites. For peak July and August weekends, book several weeks in advance and consider mid-week arrivals for better availability.
