Campgrounds and RV parks near Long Plain 6, MB

Long Plain 6 is the main reserve of the Long Plain First Nation in the Central Plains Region of Manitoba, located southwest of Portage la Prairie along the Assiniboine River. It sits about 14 km southwest of Portage la Prairie and roughly 98 km west of Winnipeg, which puts RV travellers within easy reach of Trans-Canada Highway services and quieter rural camping. The surrounding area is farm country in the Pembina Valley and Central Plains tourism regions, with the Assiniboine and Boyne rivers, small reservoirs, and grid-road access to a mix of private RV parks and a nearby provincial park. Portage la Prairie is the main service centre for groceries, fuel, dump stations, and RV supplies. Close-in options for RV travellers include Ofty's Riverside Campground, Miller's Camping Resort, Cottonwood Campground, and Sportsman's Corner Campground for private-park stays, plus Stephenfield Provincial Park to the south, a quiet family park featuring fishing and recreation facilities including a beach, campground, yurts and boat launch. Together they cover overnight Trans-Canada stopovers, weekend family trips, and longer seasonal stays.

Stephenfield Provincial Park is reserved through the Manitoba Parks Reservation Service. The park system uses a staggered launch date approach spread over five days, and Manitoba Parks recommends creating an account on the Parks Reservation Service and familiarizing yourself with its policies, campsite photos, and descriptions before the launch date. On launch day, all visitors to the site at 7:00 a.m. are placed in a random queue to ensure a fair process. A cancellation fee applies to any reservation cancelled four or more days prior to arrival, while reservations cancelled within three days or less of arrival will continue to be charged one night's camping fee. Private parks such as Miller's Camping Resort, Ofty's Riverside Campground, Cottonwood Campground, and Sportsman's Corner Campground are booked directly by phone or through their operator websites. Long summer weekends fill first, so contact operators well ahead of the target dates.
